i hated this movie because this is just another movie that injects hysteria and fear into people
it demonises Biotechnology and also medical testing. i mean the first bullshit is that before human testing there was animal testing and the animal testing might last a couple of years before eve considered safe for human trials.
and testing 10005 humans on an antidote for cancer is bull crap. there are 3 stages of human testing and the first stage only allows about 5 live human subjects.
if the drug causes any problem in the first 2 years the whole thing is aborted.
and there is no virus capable to change a complex organism into something like a dark seeker. it doesnot have enough space to store enough info to cause such drastic changes
the only virus capable to cure cancer now is an STD called the CMV which targets hepatic cancer. not curing it bur slowing its growth.
u're imposing that these things are occurring now. the drug may have not caused any problem in the first 2 years or in the initial 10005 human tests. it did not mention about the duration taken from initial animal testing and the "apocalypse", but if it started now, it would actually have a full two years before the thing could happen.
there's no known virus capable to change a complex organism, but we're not talking about a normal virus, but a mutated form of rabies. rabies not only affects physical body, but also mental health, causing delirium, agitation, aggressive behaviours etc. if normal rabies can do that, imagine a mutated genetically engineered strain. there's a lot of what if here, and that's the fun part of such films.
suspension of disbelief, my friend. if we only show things that can only happen, we will be stuck with documentaries.
