Recently, my iMac really takes time to shut down. The only time i saw the iMac shut down is when i turn of the cable. It will take really long time on shut down. What happen?

Maybe they are applications running when you're trying to shut down. Try Cmd+Alt+Esc, Force Quit all running applications and shut down. Hope that helps.

Are you on Leopard / Tiger?

How long since you shut down. Shut down time is considerably longer when you have the computer running for a few days/weeks. Takes longer when running updates.

Ya, if you're running a lot of software and didn't quite them before shutting down, the shut down will take a very long time. So you should close all your applications first. smile.gif
