Have you service your aircond system before? Maybe its due coz normally aircond system are serviced at every 1 year or 2 year interval.

Yes, they dont include the grounding cable and I am very sure Power Booster will beat any Type-XX brand anytime. Yes, you can just replace your broken vs with PB Black Edition straight away and use together with your grounding cables.
