Selangor to get a new coach for new season
PETALING JAYA: The FA of Se-langor (FAS) plan to have a major revamp of their Super League side, including a replacement for chief coach Dollah Salleh.

Dollah, who led the Red Giants to a treble (Premier League, FA Cup and Malaysia Cup) in 2005, is out of favour after four seasons. They finished fourth in the Super League last season and were beaten by Kedah in both the FA Cup and Malaysia Cup finals.

“I have been told about it and I will leave on a happy note,” said Dollah yesterday.

“It is not an easy task to handle one of the most successful teams in Malaysian football. I had the honour of serving Selangor as a player and coach.

“I have no regrets and I wish the person who takes over all the best.”

Dollah added that he had re-ceived some offers from club sides but was leaving his options open for now.

He holds the distinction of leading Petaling Jaya Municipal Council (MPPJ) to become the first club side to win the Malaysia Cup in 2003.

Several coaches have been link-ed as the replacement for Dollah and they include former Selangor defender Mehmet Durakovic from Australia, Kuala Muda Naza’s K. Devan and Perak’s Steve Darby.

The FAS secretary, Hamidin Mohd Amin, said that they would make an announcement soon on the decisions taken for the new season.

“We will call for a press conference once we finalise the decisions. We want to avoid people from making speculations on the players and coach for the new season,” he said yesterday.

Hamidin added that the team management met recently to discuss the changes for the new season.
