This is the first time I brought my S3 to Cameron Highland. Not really benefited from the extra zoom, but I guess it would be great if I could have a wider focal length.

This is the time when you need at least 28mm focal length. brows.gif Been through so many cities and countries and witness so many amazing landscapes but limited by 38mm focal length. sad.gif

A way to overcome this limitation is to use panorama. Did you do any panorama when in Cameron? I'm sure it will be fabulous.

There are blown out skies in some of your pictures and also noticeable chromatic aberrations. Thanks for sharing.

I did not do any panorama since I didn't bring my tripod. Else I would have also done exposure bracketing to prevent blown out.
Exposure is kinda difficult. I was there at about noon, although it's cloudy, the sky is still too bright compares to the tea plant. The first photo was exposed to the sky, and I had to use layer and layer mask to fix the under exposed tea plant, and the color of the tea plant is kinda "unnatural" compares to the rest.

You don't need a tripod to do panorama. All my daytime panoramas are done without a tripod.

Try and use a CPL when you have the chance. It does help a lot in too bright situations.

No, I don't have any CPL. Even with CPL, it will reduce the glare and step down to a stop or two, on the whole frame. Unless it's a ND gradient filter.

You should add a CPL to your accessory list. Attached an example of a picture taken with the CPL. It was taken in bright sunlight. No PP done, just resize.

How do I use the CPL filter?
I've one, when I turn, I get different colors?

Here is a good site that shows you how to use a CPL.

Emm... the condition on that beach is different from the tea plantation. The boats are well lit under the sun, so the exposure required on both sky and boats are not much different. However during my visit to the plantation, the sky is cloudy but still very bright (at noon), and the tea leafs are much darker.
No doubt CPL will improve the contrast and minus the glare, but when it reduce the brightness on the sky by a stop or more, it will darken the tea leafs at the same time. So only exposure bracketing or ND filter will work. Of course PP can fix it too, as long as there's no blown out.

How can you missed out that Tea Plantation??!! That place is my purpose of going up there. Having a cup of tea and enjoying the sceneries is really relaxing. Walking down the plantation and take a few photos... you will not want to miss it next time. smile.gif

I never bother to visit those strawberry parks and markets.

Yeah, I understand, I have a 3 yr old son. So usually I leave him with my wife and sneak out early in the morning and come back before he wakes tongue.gif
