QUOTE(Aura @ Jan 2 2008, 05:16 PM) Aiya!!! Forgot to state.... Ori JP... try searching for a new 80GB Asian set. 20/60 GB Asian or JPN sets also can play NTSC/J ps2 games, but hard to buy new, can get as 2nd hand mostly. for testing ps2 backwards compatibily, i recommend SotC NTSC/J http://global.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/...pid-1004248186/simply godly upscaled

^ LoL, if u are very happy and contented with the 360, very hard to poison you to get another console. no time to play and appreciate all the good games on both platforms!
i myself got the ps3 after my 360 suffer its 1st 3RL attack. strangely, after i got the ps3 and start to neglect the 360, it never dare to 3RL again - LoL

@ravemaster, i added you pict to the 1st post. you play using headphones? how about volume control? your headphones have volume adjuster?
@Cool_Knights, your controller is really not behaving normally. have you tried what monyetbesi suggested?
turn off the controller. on the back there is a pin hole use a paper clip and hold it for 5-10 seconds. then attactch the usb cable and press the PS/HOME button.

@terencetoo, DVI is the best for quality although some LCDs also do a great job with component input. DS3 have vibration (for games that support it), heavier and consumes more battery power than a 6axis. QUOTE(absoluteiced @ Jan 7 2008, 02:47 PM) somebody pls teach me how to set up wireless connection for ps3,i followed the instruction on the manual and it not working.it show error 80710102 each time i finished setting up my network setting. can someone help absoluteiced? i dunno much about wifi. if someone can help, i'll copy paste the answer into the 1st post.

^ don't worry, a JPN set has basically same functionality with an Asian set sold locally except for a few technical exceptions.
note the 40GB is ¥39,980 in JPN (not including tax, i think) - its also pretty heavy to carry inside the luggage. have fun visiting JPN.

ok, the few technical differences are
JPN set plays DVD R2, certain games are censored for "Violence+Gore" (e.g resistance, uncharted), future games like RE5 will also surely be censored
Asian set plays DVD R3
yes, u can change the XMB to english/chinese/etc. when u 1st boot up.

since i don't care about gore+violence, i feel the censor is pretty minor. a jpn set will censor the some showing of blood on both resistance and uncharted and maybe future games. ps3 games are region free, it doesn't matter what set you have, all games can play.
why u do feel strongly about buying in JPN? according to currency exchange, it is not any cheaper than buying from SGP/HK or even local shops. if the shop there offers a good bundle with bundle games and bundle DS3, then it's a good deal.

if your fren is there, he can guide you to shop for good deals. shops there sure have promotions and also sell discounted/2nd hand games. all the best with your shopping.
ok, according to yahoo currency, ¥39,980= RM1,219.68

i think any DVI-HDMI cable will work, cos all new monitors support the appropriate pins.
DVI-A is for older models monitors, some PCs only have VGA out so they connect VGA to DVI-A.

^game updates also have .pkg files? even the folding update .pkg is impossible to install using proxy, no? sad that asian version of FS and HS still don't have rumble patch, the ppl in charge of SCEH stores must not be aware of these issues

^ tried googling "lenovo LXM-WL19CH" but could not find much info. went to shop.lenovo.com and search for this model http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss...ocid=MIGR-66428its says nothing about DVI or HDCP-compliant actually, the monitor is not that big, if u can transport it around, can test its DVI on friend's or shop's PS3. if the monitor's DVI is not HDCP compliant, the PS3 will NOT output an image.
