Hi I have a question about the new Time Machine... I need an external HD to back my things up right? However, can I still use it to transfer stuffs? It's not dedicated to Time Machine only right?
Another side question, Is running 1 GB RAM on a MacBook good enough to support Mac OS X Leopard?

One for your personal files and one for Time Machine.

i dont think so. if not mistaken, we can specify which and what folder we want to keep backup. then, its always back to the original space of the files.

Getting Started

As long as your backup drive is bigger than the drive that is being backed up, you should be fine. Time Machine is smart enough to delete older files once the drive's full. You don't even have to partition your HDD, TM will only occupy a folder on the drive. I've tried it, but I don't see how it's useful to me. Maybe I should give it another go. The space thingy looks really cool.

I used "Time Machine" since day 1. It's Leopard pop up error, it write I should use HD at least 100GB. Yes my backup files is big. Its about 64GB. That is why the error pop up. Now ok already, I hookup 160GB HDD to my mbp. This post has been edited by SEP910: Nov 18 2007, 11:00 AM
