arj folds with his 60Gb PS3 non-stop 24/7 for 4 months straight last time. I notice the 40Gb PS3 did not release any hot air from the top vent when u put the PS3 in vertical, it only comes out from the back. In fact the top vent is very cool.

yes, i heard quite a few ppl fold 24/7. then i saw the pict of him buying a new white 40GB. dual folding!?

too expensive for 40gb, like some one has said, top up another 500 bucks u can get a higher end console ! if it is around 1000 then it is a different story.

500 bucks can get u 2 new ori ps3 games or ipod nano, can even get u a ps2 slim ler.. of add 170 more can get psp.. wat talking you?!?!

500 bucks not much la, anything more than that like 700 - 800 then, its a lot! if u get 40 gig for 1300 ... i bet u wil regret one day ! tambah lagi sikit boleh dapat 60 - 80 gig leh !

different ppl different defination on "a lot" lah... for me 500 is still a lot. i'll be getting the white 40gb too very soon coz if i topup also till that 80gb version later i sure definately will upgrade the hdd. might as well i use the extra topup and upgrade that 40gb hdd.

Why would you consider the 60GB superior to the 40GB? Excuse me?
1. 40GB plays PS3 games just as well
2. 40GB plays BD-movies just as well
3. 40GB plays DVD-movies just as well
4. 40GB connects to PSN just as well (if not better, due to improved WiFi)
5. 40GB performs as a media center just as well
6. 40GB operates off a 65nm Cell / 90nm RSX - this reduces power usage just a bit and a little less heat (more environmentally friendly?)
7. 60GB has 20GB more HDD (you're paying extra RM500, and that easily covers a HDD upgrade)
8. 60GB has 4 USB ports (same as HDD, for the extra RM500, a simple RM20 USB hub is more than enough to cover this inadequacy)
10. 60GB can play SACD (Super Audio CD). Errrm, when was the last time you actually played (or even own) an SACD? It's not popular in Singapore (or maybe Singapore), so this white elephant isn't exactly crucial or critical.

Stop being so quick to jump on the bandwagon about how the 60GB is superior to the 40GB and it being the best PS3 version. It shows that you haven't really put in much thought about it. While it might be a better version for US or Japan (given that they would be able to play their NTSC/US or NTSC/J games respectively), in the context of Singapore (or maybe Malaysia), the 40GB is a much better choice.

the amount u get in difference can upgrade yr HDD to 120gb plus getting external ports for additional usb ports or make up for the lack of memory card readers..

IF u didnt know the pricing here is basically similar to the us citizens.. explain why the amount of ps3 40gb versions are more hangat!??! even here in msia also its pretty hot. are u saying we are all dumb consumers?!!
