got a quick question here...

If I want to bring a vehicle back, do I need to have a full driving license? Is it possible if I only have a P license?
*
last time ap would be granted only with full licence, but now i just checked the website and it says:
"Applicant must has a valid driving license. A learner/temporary driving license is not acceptable."

so you'd better off call miti for details

yup, we pay a lot for car tax and many malaysians still dun realize this.. what to do , we live in this boleh land which have this kind of mentality "if u dun wan to pay toll, u boleh naik lembu kereta" , so same goes here, if u dun wan to pay car tax, u boleh naik lembu juga..

btw, i dun mind to pay this tax actually as long we have clean & transparent gomen, where the money really-really goes back to rakyat, like free highway(UK), free water (eire) free education (germany), etc....  arrghh stop dreaming.
*
oitt takuntung, damn i agree with you 100%..i hate the times when they suddenly come out with a so-called brilliant idea (actually its lame and retarded), especially the f1 team wtf..better spend on education and infrastructure..
opss sorry out of scope =p

The government would also introduce a mechanism to prohibit the import of used parts and components effective June 2011, said Mustapa.

THIS IS FARK UP man... no used parts to be import? means no more half cut??

Come on, this is so stupid... sad.gif screw them

Hi, where do u checked docket price?  I  thought its the retail price minus vat? Which company did u used? Is there anyone can manage the whole affair of importing for u as I hav a very busy schedule?
*
1. you can google internet or if ive not mistaken there is a list on cars docket price at MITI website, try to find the article from document 11(doc 11 is about bringing car back home) coz i had downloaded it last years and sadly couldnt remember where did i save it...

2. ok im not a economist so im assuming VAT=valorem added tax from my 101 econs years ago..so the docket price is the price when the car just rolled out the factory without any additional tax+excise or whatsoever(correct me if im wrong)...damn pure price FTW!!!

3.well its damn alot runners you can choose!!..what i can advise you is get few quotes and compare them, you can get reference from forumers here..well worst case scenario if dont get one, i'll get your things done with competitive pay!(hope its more than my annual leave trade off cost =p)

personally, an interesting case since its related to free AP on experts coming back home..well feel free to holla us for info..the best is ring MITI and ask the procedures, dont forget to get the officer's name

the best case since lame "please calculate my tax" thread...

btw, s2000!!!! damn rad car!!...no interest in lotus? hehe coz im dying the drive one.. =p

Oh man this is really bad. I already got all documents ready to bring the bike this May. You sure about this? You have asked the MITI office?  sad.gif
*
last time i knew was MUST have full licence..but think had bumped into a "P holders can apply", not sure where n when..being so forgetful lately..

haha bout "You have asked MITI office", i wonder who's really the applicant hehe..
ask someone go to MITI and ask for confirmation, otherwise seek for document 11 in the miti website..
btw, you are from the States eh?

hey beastX
maybe this question has been asked though
but lets just assume this is for the benefit of the masses

whats the normal rate of the price for AP will be charged should we intend to bring a car from overseas into malaysia via grey importers

thanks
*
no standard price
imho price ranges rm5k-10k depending on places eg its rm10k in japan
since you have no basic knowledge on AP, im assuming you are not from UK or Japan
AP from both places is unlikely to hit those figures, maybe just worth for personal use rather than selling it to 3rd party
but yeah, you may try..
