@SkyW for N95, the newest firmware V20 already reduce the battery consumption. i also able to stretch the battery life to 40+hrs under medium usage. (1-8mins call, 30-40sms, 1+hrs music, occasional GPS usage, few minutes WiFi, few photo snaps, etc)
if light usage, can easily last 2 days, no problem.
@eyez98 read previous posts. already mentioned quite a few times. MapKing and Garmin Mobile XT

QUOTE(pigcat @ Dec 15 2007, 07:56 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Which headphone you're using? FYI, not all headphone well suited each device. Generally good heaphones will require much more power to drive. I have 2 headphone, the Sony (RM119) and Koss (RM150) all need 100% but still not yet enough loud. However, the very same loudness just need 30% of the volume to drive the Griffin headphones, if 50%/60% ear will explode lo...can't imagine if set to 100%. Unfortunately, my Nokia N95 8GB just HATE the Griffin headphone, it was working everytime with the headphone and then got one time I insert the headphone during gaming then restart then since then it cannot detect it as a headphone, everytime insert just automatically switch to TV out, doesn't even give me options. I wish it works with my N95 8GB though cause I love the voume though clarity really not quite there... i guess it's something to do with the firmware. on my N95-1, 60% volume on default nokia earphone is loud enough to hurt my eardrum usually use 50%. on my Koss KSC-75, need higher volume since it need more power to drive it. usually set it 60% for normal listening. for my Mylar3 IEM, only need 50% max for listening. @hakim_radzuan download nokia maploader from nokia.com. already mentioned few hundreds times literally

@pigcat sorry, never tried mid/high range sony earphone before. but AFAIK, it's more toward low freq (bass). for my mlyarone X3, it's favor mid and high (vocal and instrument). btw, the IEM is pretty sensitive, those background noise is very pronounced to my untrained ears @ddww seem like N95-2 battery cant stand heavy abuse too @hakim_radzuan then google la anyway, to make your life easier, navfone pro

QUOTE(knarf_kee @ Dec 17 2007, 11:55 AM) hi guys, I have a stupid question. In N95, Gallery > Image & Videos. it will always show ALL videos + images file we stored in our mass storage. Is there anyway to exclude some of files so that it will not show there unless we go and open it manually? Otherwise, i forsee this feature will be so damn bloody slow 1 year later if I have 3000 photos, 200 MTVs and 20 videos inside. here is my suggestion. 1.install 3rd party file manager like ActiveFile. 2.create a folder and dump everything inside. this is the folder where u dont want the files to show up in gallery 3.hidden the folder(incl subfolder and files) via PC or ActiveFile 4.those files PROBABLY wont show up in gallery anymore

N95 family and N82 use SiRF II. accuracy wise, it's same as the III but locking speed slower than III. but with A-GPS, both basically the same performance. @mstr583 once u lock on, u can try slide it back. unless u start getting signal lost. but IMHO, it will use more battery trying to get better signal. just my theory though

@ddww
reflash= redo the firmware updates.
if that sound messy, try hard format. Turn phone off. Press and hold these three keys together:. Green dial key,; Star key (*); Three key (3) and then turn it on.
this will restore everything back from the ROM. sort like reinstall back Windows

QUOTE(jep @ Dec 27 2007, 01:55 AM) Guys...do u know how much does it cost if enable the network for assisting the locking of the gps?...it's super fast..just want to know how much (in KB) and how often does it use the network?...thanks.. 1-3kb only. which translate into 1-3cent only. if u enable it, it will use GPRS(or any data connection from tele provider) everytime u try to lock in. so everytime u start the apps, it will connect once.

QUOTE(hanissyazwan @ Dec 28 2007, 05:17 AM) Mate, as far as I know, there's still no available Stand alone Yahoo Messenger for N95-2. But we can use multi-chat IM like Fring http://www.fring.com/ or Agile messenger http://www.agilemobile.com/ . These two applications works like Trillian in our desktop computer! Any news about the nGage application release? I know December isn't over yet but i am really waiting for this one... dont forget bout IM+ and the free eBuddy client. i use eBuddy cuz it's lightweight compare to the others. n-gage has been postponed to next year. specific date havent been announced. happy waiting

QUOTE(ck_blink @ Jan 30 2008, 08:01 AM) i juz use it to check football results 3 or 4 times.... that's does little harm to battery. i think the rotateme, nokmok, flipsilent, etc that use accelerometer plugin causes the battery issue. my N95-1 last more than 50hours under light usage. 80+sms, half hour call, few minutes of application, few camera shots, etc
