when it comes to hardcore WoW, everyone's pretty much a perfectionist, so no harm in that.
its true that you dont really need mental agi for lasting power (as the majority if spriests dont have it anyways) but it prolly helps on situations like kurei explained, where theres rarely med times between pulls, or lollongfights like illidan and his lol phases that avg's like 15-25min fight? (correct me if im wrong).
its kinda like, if you need to pot with out agi, with it you prolly can save that pot. or you'll be the one thats still casting, while the other spriest is oom even after both spriests potted kinda deal.
dmg output wise shouldnt be all too drastic compared both spriests as you arent losing the core talents of shadow. pretty much just mindblast and its crit, and its on a cooldown regardless.
Yup, Illidan's fight is around 20ish minutes long, just as long as Kael's, but more intensive dpsing. And with our WWS it could be calculated that mental agility will save prolly around 3k-ish mana over the length of that, hardly something worth that much seeing that mana coming back from VT would be more than 30k mana return. With perma potting, and as said correctly timed shadowfiend, there is almost no need for slacking dpsing except for one: Alar P1 where there is no threat issue and you go full rotation dps including SW:D for 6mins, then again, I didnt have a shaman in my group there. For continuous fights, we do that too during our trash clearance of instance and we hardly pause for breaks and I didnt see the need coz all i had to do was pop out of combat for 10secs and drink up.
A full dps rotation set with at least 4imp MB talent would drastically increase dps, and it could push your mindblast + VT total dmg from a boss encounter to around 50%ish dmg. In PvE burst damage is quite important too and losing a lil out of imp mb would slightly hinder that.
Anyways, I'm not turning this into a shadowpriest raiding thread, sorry OP for detouring a lil. Wont happen on my part again in this thread
