Where is the best place to buy Nintendo Wii & what is the best price in KL ?.

What should I look for in Nintendo Wii, including the accessories like D-pad controller (based on the pic) & great game to start for....

These guys are trusted sellers. You can ask them anything you want regarding the Wii consoles.. and I'll advise you on a few things.



Price: They range from RM1xxx to 15xx depending of package, and region.

Wii is a region locked console. So getting a Japanese console, would only allow you to play Japanese titles.

Accessories? The Wii console comes packed with 1 Wiimote, and 1 Nunchuck. All you need for 1 player. Buy more if you got friends/family who wants to play.

The "Classic Controller", as shown as above picture, is an optional peripheral. It is mainly used to play Virtual Console games. But in future games, but not all, might have the option to use the "Classic Controller", altho the majority now doesn't require one.

Games? I think you should be getting Mario Galaxy. Should last you for abit.

those are unmodded consoles right? id like my cousins to play only original games. they ought to learn after disc hogging their ps2

which brings up a good question. how much is a game there?

btw do you think wii is taxable by the kastam? im thinking of buying a set here just to get them to start off with playing originals.

If I'm not mistaken, taxable value is RM500 and above. can andy confirm?

taxable items actually depends on which categories it falls into...As for Wii, its under gaming consoles which should be 10% import tax and 15% after sales tax (or was it the other way round... )...but if u r carrying it back, u can try to go through the green lane without declaring it....

so what about games? are they fall under gaming console? Movies (ie. DVDs, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray)?

games i believe is under the movies/cd sections....

so if it is a gift the receipient dont have to pay the sales tax right? have u ever experienced getting taxed by the kastam?

any sources for the tax stuff? i checked the kastam site but they asked me to pay for an info on the the duty tax. that is so lame

i kena tax when i bought ps3.... but about the gift thingy..yes..pay less tax but still have to pay...

there was a gov site tat mention on the % of tax u needto pay ..but i forgot the link..it was in the custom website...

how much tax? was it based on the value declared? like if i declare to USPS that the Wii set with a few games is $450, they might tax me a % of that $450?

yup...the tax was based on the value tat was written on the package...if u put less value ur tax is less but the insured sum is also less..

i hav heard tat some courier services have been getting away without u having to pay tax...but r u willing to take the risk.....

no, i mean when someone talked about a courier which can evade tax, i was wondering if the courier has its centers here in the states.

of course its cheaper to get it in the states. plus u get 5 free blu rays (plus 10 free for me)

just let you guys know,there's a games shop at the IT world in mid valley city,i used to be a regular customer but the assistant being so rude to me,i dont know what's going on with him,I'm not talking bad about that but after what i heard,he likes to cheat customer by increasing the price and sometimes he ignored the customer,weird huh?

reasonable in my book la, i dunno about you discount scavengers.....certainly reasonable, i didn't say cheap by the way.

christmas coming soon.. predict the wii price go up or down? if up i think I'll go get it fast.

up in usa bcos of the supply shortage in usa.

in malaysia, dun reli have any idea since it is still possible to get a wii. just tat the price is still kinda expensive imho.

mid valley counter has wii's for sale. with the official adaptor (which i believe can also be bought seperately)

Rm1450 for wii + game = maybe is good deal in malaysia.
but i plan to buy Wii in australia in this christmas.. the package include Nintendo Wii Console + 1 Controller + 1 Nunchuck + Wii Sports Games + Controller Sensor + Wii Stand + Cables = Rm1033 ^.^ with means $349Aud for this Christmas only..

but hey, australian is using PAL wii, beware!

Yes, M'sian Wii using NTSC. Buying from the US and/from here would be the same(in terms of specifications). Just price difference(US cheaper methinks).

I just bought mine from Summit USJ at subang..
I got the Wii sports bundle(US version, normal inside with 1x ori game, stand, wii mote,etc), + 1x wii remote,2x wii mote jacket,1x nunchuk, 1x ac adapter, 10x ahem games (can change 10x if dont like)
Total is RM 1988
The wii mote n nunchuk set cost around rm250. The bundle is rm 1750..
Updating software all that will not cost me anymore.

I know is kinda expensive but I stay around subang. Im too lazy to go to KL buy.. Sick of KL jam, expensive parking and petrol money. I have experience buying stuff from KL n cause me lots of trouble. Buying nearby my house really convenient to me if the console has any problem or need to update software.
One example is handphone from x-pax shop. Got problems with the h/p n I go to that shop back n fort from subang. Really make me exausted. So I tell myself from now on nvr buy stuff too far away from my home. In case u really need to claim warranty, that really trouble u a lot.

hi those of you who got the mod version, did you update the firmware when you connect to the net. I was told by the seller not to.

yeah. it's better not to try it. till now i haven't try it. i also do not have wifi at home and the lan adapter costs money.

i have a japan mod set and there is no problem updating to 3.1j as for now. All games can be played.

Yes I updated mine to 3.1u from 3.0u.. I asked the shop keeper whether can update from internet myself at home.. he said no problem so i just dit it
