Honda eclutch is the best implementation imo. Doesn't take away the ability to shift if i want.

I have a hailak too, but I calculated it's more expensive to bela a bike if both mileage are the same, excluding fuel costs. also in sabah my roadtax only rm207. I thinking to just own some 250 saja for a few years to play play
*
Good for u in the east.
Here rm800 roadtax
Diesel I fill rm200 not enough for a full tank.
Only can travel for 600km.

My bike RM40-50 can do 600km

the ancient big twin V, fattest of em all(in terms of weight).

But each to their own and we don't discriminate, we welcome all riders of the 2 wheel. Kecik, besaq, mahai murah kita kawan semua, ride sama2

If anyone went to the test ride event yesterday at BigWing Penang can see me. I'm the guy with the high cut boots on that green tiger. There's only another uncle with high cut racing boots.

They have the newest Xadv V3 on test even tho it's not listed in the bike list.

Test ride with no marshall, no set route.
And when I arrive in the morning at 930am there's no one else. No queue so they let me take it out for longer.
So I had quite a bit more time with it round the island. Even took it up layan corner balik pulau hill.

Seriously I don't understand how some people are willing to pay rm90k for this glorified scooter.

No stock mah...waiting list almost 18mths for v2 ...

tiru that other thread about cars.
this is for the rest of the boys that actually have some balls to ride high powered bikes.

backstory:
i've been riding all my life.
currently on a triumph tiger 800 xcx that is now nearly 5 years with me.

good bike.
been everywhere with it.
took me through everything. and never had any major issues.
in fact never had any issue with it.

but after a while you seem to not get intimidated by it.
you don't get scared of it anymore. it slides, it wheelies, it slipped and you just smile and laugh and giggle in your helmet.

so you go out for test rides hoping to get bitten by the itch.

Have you tried the Ducati hypermotard 790? How's the triumph to this?

I think bikes will undergo the same path as cars. There is bound to be enthusiasts who don't want the added weight of eclutch and prefer to stick with pure manual.

At least keep the pure manual option for as many variants as possible, not gatekeep to certain models.

But but I see a lot of xadv riders are young.
And majority of the adventure touring owners are uncle.

Your logic is flawed?

Ballpark about rm1k a year.
I do most of the maintenance to all my cars truck and bikes myself. Life in rural area it's 1 hour to SC and a waste of my time.

I do about 10,000 km a year on the bike.
My last anakee adventure lasts 30,000km
Chain & sprocket lasts 50,000km
Brake pad lasts 30,000 I change already gatal tangan.
Only change 4T engine oil, no gearbox oil, no differential oil, no transfer case oil.

Bikers don't discriminate.
Those that have big bikes almost certainly have another smaller kapcai or scooter at home.

But but after extensive test ride I feel there's nothing special about it.
Spent an hour with it in mixed road condition and still don't get the appeal.

I think so.
Tried one naked Ducati at Rimba Raid.

Street fighter or hypermotard or monster can't remember ahaha. Need to find back pics.
Triumph tiger is adventure touring. Hypermotard is naked/street fighter. I don't prefer the riding position.

Between hypermotard or triumph street twin/speed twin/scrambler I'll take the upright position.

Yesterday test ride event Honda have the CB1000SP for test.
Didn't try it since not looking to buy a naked or street fighter.

The CB1000F is supposed to have a slightly detuned engine compare to the CB1000SP, and a more relaxed riding position, for more chill riders I guess. Hope they will bring it in la, quite like the looks.

Suzuki GSX S1000GX
150bhp

Similar power level from some jap 2.4 liter car engine.
Yet when car engines have to lug 1.5 tonne around, bike engines have to pull only 200kg.
It's akin to riding a dragon. A cool, beautiful, shapely dragon.

Feels really light.
Seat height is quite low, and I can flat foot both feet.
Center of gravity also low making maneuvering easy.

Have some huge expectations when I throw my legs over.
After all, it's the first bike from Suzuki with semi active suspension. Fully electronic adjustment with continuous, dynamic damping control. Supposed to be able to smooth up bumps. Something like skyhook system from Ducati.
So my expectation is through the roof.

A bit let down.
The system sometimes work and sometimes doesn't. When it doesn't, the suspension is very jarring. Small bumps that won't feel on my tiger suddenly felt shocking. Like 30% of the time the system are not able to provide correct feedback to the absorber and it kinda make the whole experience worse versus a good adjustable suspension.
Tried changing the settings multiple time, various configuration still the same. When it works it's really comfortable.

Engine response is good.
Still the same character of 4 inlines, initial pull is softer. When it goes to mid rpm then it pulls away harder. Initial pull is softer than something like ktm duke 990.

Side by side with the tiger, I really think the tiger look more intimidating. Lagi jahat?

The tiger is a 2018 model.
The fully adjustable WP suspension in the XCX model is a really gem of a suspension. Absorbs bump like nobody business and really long travel make it a really comfortable touring machine.

The s1000gx is a really good bike. CBU, fully made in Japan and would probably suit the needs of many.
Not for me tho. Not much of an upgrade compared to the current tiger.

And I find the sitting position of the s1000gx to be a bit weird.
You won't feel it when the bike is stationary in showroom. Take it for a ride to see if you're OK with the position of the pegs.
