PUTRAJAYA: Titiwangsa MP Johari Ghani has been promoted to investment, trade and industry minister by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in the Cabinet reshuffle.

Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh has meanwhile been made federal territories minister under the Prime Minister’s Department, replacing Dr Zaliha Mustafa who was dropped from the Cabinet.

Sungai Petani MP Taufiq Johari takes over from Yeoh as youth and sports minister, while Johari’s previous plantation and commodities ministry will now be helmed by Wanita Umno chief Noraini Ahmad.

DAP’s Steven Sim has been swapped to the entrepreneur development and cooperatives ministry while PKR vice-president R Ramanan will take over the human resources portfolio.

Sim fills the post vacated by Upko president Ewon Benedick who had resigned last month.

PKR’s Johor Bahru MP Akmal Nasir meanwhile takes over the economy portfolio, which had been left vacant following the resignation of former party deputy president Rafizi Ramli.

Sabah PKR chief Mustapha Sakmud was promoted as Sabah and Sarawak affairs minister. He was previously deputy higher education minister.

Now-former religious affairs minister Na’im Mokhtar was also dropped from the Cabinet.

I’m more curious why put GRS from Tawau to be her deputy, I don’t mind anyone from any party but as long as his or her constituent in FT area to have a better understanding the need of locals and provide better service. Don’t get me started because of PL so it’s fitting to have a Sabahan.

My friend who working as tax consultant and dealing with LHDN facing some issue from his client especially on employment stamp duty and e-invoice, as usual LHDN top officer won't layan since it is policy related matter, they will ask u go refer to minister or deputy minister. He go and approach Lim Hui Ying and Amir Hamzah also no no feedback at all. End up have to cari Wee Ka Siong and Wee Ka Siong raise it up at press conference. It speak a lot on how minister in MOF working right now.

If change to Liew Chin Tong, i'm sure Liew Chin Tong can be easily approachable and revert the matter to PMX or Amir Hamzah. LHDN top management just matter about KPI on tax collection, the rest they DGAF at all, tax collection KPI is their performance bonus.

Tax exemptions and discounts are under the prerogative of MOF. Dep Min has no say and the paper doesn’t even go thru him. From KSP -> YBMK2. Just coz tax agents used to have it good last time doesn’t mean things will stay easy moving forward. Tax that’s is owed must be paid including penalties.

So MIDA releases another 5 year letter signed off by MITI kek

But they of course back it up with data on how much they support local economy, employ local vendors and local staff, CSR efforts and also the number of TVET they bring in yearly la. So in this case quite merited and not a tongkat
