If you look at bar supplies, there are also literal rocks used for cooling drinks, whiskey stone is one of the name you can search for, no I haven't tried since feel like useless for me

QUOTE(iGamer @ Dec 14 2025, 08:27 PM) Use double walled, insulated glass/tumblr. Even without a cover,it will stay cool longer than regular glass plus these cubes.Edit for clarity This post has been edited by cursetheroad01: Dec 14 2025, 08:40 PM iGamer liked this post

Ice salt bath if you don't want your drink dilute by ice cube , since ice and salt is widely available and they are considering very cheap, if you don't mind use rain water also ok since you only use it for ice salt bath and not consuming the rain water ice directly.

QUOTE(iGamer @ Dec 14 2025, 08:27 PM) I guess can la, just that it won't stay chill longer compared to water cube. It's basically a trade-off between chilled longer but diluted and non diluted but chilled shorter iGamer liked this post

QUOTE(iGamer @ Dec 14 2025, 08:02 PM) I used to using SS thermal insulated cup for cold drinks, but then I learned that SS304 actually will corrode under acidic carbonated drink, so now I only use ceramic mug for carbonated acidic drink. Buy SS316 for real food grade stainless steel.Only SS316 grade will resist corrosion from acidic drink/food, so now I also wonder if all the market stainless steel cookwares are really safe if prolong use with acidic or spicy food, maybe they will leak out small traces of metal and leads to heavy metal poisoning? |

QUOTE(iGamer @ Dec 14 2025, 07:51 PM) Any ktards tried stainless steel “ice” cubes to replace actual ice cubes? that statement is false, it has higher resistance not immuneTheoretical advantage: - the SS cubes won’t dilute your drink Available versions: - stainless steel 304 (normal food safe standard) - stainless steel 316 (medical grade standard, won’t corrode under acidic drink like Coca Cola etc) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |
