Hello,

My family's flat currently have a tenant that couldn't work due to an accident, he is still recovering with issue with walking.

He didn't pay for 4-5 months already and recently I have paid the tenant a visit and his condition as he said.

So, what can I do to help him? I have emailed to the local area MP (Mailbox full). Where and what else can I do?

He also doesn't have any relative, my objective is to get government to help him and let him recuperate in a better condition. Also to get the property back (FLAT with broken lift).

Appreciate all avenues.

Thanks

MP is useless in most cases

try to check with charity near your location. Jabatan Kebajikan also a good place to start

Try Tzu Chi, they help everyone and very fast too. Might not be too much be they always helped as best they could.

Go to MP office/YB service center during office hour. Tell them you apply for JKM aid . they got those form prepare in my YB area office . Call them if you are unsure

Things to bring
Tenant photostats IC,
The Yellow book from klink kesihatan with attendance book
the letter of injury, usually given by doctor as supporting document
electric & water bill under tenant name/ your name phototast
letter of employment if still employed / letter of termination phototast
bank account preferably BSN to bank in aid
Bring a folder to place these item

Before going with JKM ,
Previous experience going to JKM , they need to go there in person unless got family wife/children/ relatives can act as proxy.
The JKM will interview him/her.
Important Keep the interview slip with the office name/ office block/ telephone number

In between period ( takes few months)
JKM will visit the tenants in person, the house & etc and check whether match their requirement

Mode of communication
Usually Letter but you can surf JKM websites for faster reply if aid successful

lf successful , bank in directly to the his/her account on monthly basis. again need to take note when you renew the aids

The difference between you and my case is i bring the oku auntie to the office when i was free. She has no relatives & husband ran somewhere but she own a flat . thats it

Local senior citizen. His workplace is his own small business in trading.

Yes, I'm looking for help from government or local charity first.

I'm not getting involve in spending money to help as family member said, if he able to move out with help from government or local NGO, they will forgo the owe rents.

Im doing this before this tenant was a good paymaster before the accident and I really felt morally bounded to help to ask around after visited him.

Thanks

No choice you are already involved as owner that flat . I think you already has answer weather the tenant can recover and start working normally In future . If this is my flat , I make sure he access to $ and food eg Sara and monthly jkm 1st to weather couple of month to pay water/ electric bill .I assume he is a senior citizens?

Other than what is suggested, if he is a Muslim, can get the local mosque/baitulmal to help.

Just to be clear, I'm not the owner, belonged to a family member.

He already has those whatever SARA thing.

He was able to pay for TNB as well as SYABAS for the past few months.
