my uncle founded his own SME

when he founded his own SME few decades ago, he and the co founder has a rule between themselves, no hiring of relatives and family members.

today he hired his own dotter in the company LOL

wonder how things went from this to that.

Also any sane businessman that survived decades in business got foresight to create another "company" holding all key assets. Already prepared the main company to lingkup anytime. The so called reset button when business go bad, or government come knocking.

My friend also got arranged to join the company his father started, start from low rank junior all the way up to MD.

Old staff quite supportive. No issue. The father of course still pulling the strings from behind even though retired

Why would partners need agreement not to bring relatives, just make sure relevant qualification ada then ok already and don't just leech the company.

what's relevant qualification if no experience?
this is happening to many companies out there and the start of their downfall

imagine, i have a child...graduated with degree directly go into my own company
position manager but zero experience on anything rclxub.gif
1. what kind of job u want them to handle?...goyang telor?
2. other people are gonna not listen/respect to him/her
3. other people are gonna start resign because they realized they have no future in this company

Not necessarily all cases turned bad. There’s still hope how things panned out for 99Speedmart, son graduated and joined in as director before IPO and company seemed to be doing well. Succession plan in place and the chosen one must walk the path to ascension just like ancient China’s emperor. The one not stakeholders kepochi only

as long you don't appoint them into some operational position, it's fine because once u did that...you're about to see many people leave because there's no career progression anymore

u join a company and your superior is the boss's son/daughter, you already plan your exit..right? laugh.gif

1. Prevent any in-capable successor from running the company into the ground? pls tick
2. Prevent any capable successor in the family from running the company to greater heights? pls tick
3. It does not solve any problem other than saying "no- nepotism"? pls tick.

But many times also is not straight insert into management role due to the reasons you listed above and staff morale. They Start from trainee. Then let them prove themselves and see how they handle colleagues.

almost all of which enter directly minimum also manager of A department

so if they have many children, child A would be manager of A department, child B manager of B department...and so on

some i saw like some people mention here, directly director or regional manager or GM or something

in most hired cases, they immediately start their side hustle and direct all business there.. eventually leaving a shell company to you
