The Ministry of Transport (MOT) has clarified that outstanding traffic summonses will not affect a motorist’s eligibility for the BUDI95 petrol subsidy, following media reports suggesting otherwise.

In a statement, MOT stressed that traffic summonses and the Budi95 subsidy are two separate mechanisms that operate independently. “They are not the same matter and do not have any automatic direct connection,” the ministry said.

Under current policy, applicants must meet two basic requirements to apply for or continue receiving the subsidy:

Be a Malaysian citizen verified through MyKad.
Hold a valid driving licence.
A valid licence refers to one that is still within its active period or has expired for no more than three years.

MOT also reminded the public to continue complying with traffic laws to ensure the safety of all road users.

not uturn, your saman wont affect ur budi95.
but if your license is almost expiring, jpj will block you from renewing for outstanding saman, budi95 check both mycard and license.

don't pay saman, cannot renew license.
no valid license = no BUDI quota.

both sides also not wrong, just lots of media put sensational headlines, and all make conclusion from headline.

make simple just renew license 10 years early early.

Sorry for the naïve question, is it really true, if one dont pay the summons, they cant renew their driving license?

As we have seen in many previous cases, and on the previous thread PAS member with multiple summons, how did they renew the DL?

Even some members posted they just cleared their summons from couple of years back, o how did that happen?

Last time no blacklist. but next year, 2 month outstanding already blacklisted. I never pay my summon for more than 10 years, no blacklisted. and that summon has been clear when gomen give 80% madani family day discount.

Big difference yo. Government never blacklisted summon especially speeding summon. But next year, they will do it. Really pain in the ass, if someone dont pay their summon in 2 month. Auto blaclisted. Last time never blacklisted. Good old day has gone.

Of course gomen will say like that la.

But indirectly if u never pay saman, and JPJ blacklist ur name, will it invalidate ur driving license? This is a question needed to ask
And the criteria for budi95 is to have license right?

QUOTE
PUTRAJAYA: Transport minister Loke Siew Fook today urged motorists to settle their unpaid road transport department (JPJ) summonses by Jan 1 to avoid facing stricter action.
Loke said there were more than 5.5 million unpaid JPJ summonses nationwide as of today, and that any outstanding summonses after Jan 1 next year would be referred to the court or result in blacklisting, preventing vehicle owners from renewing their motor vehicle licences.

“The type of blacklist will depend on the offence. If the vehicle was caught speeding, the motor vehicle licence will be blacklisted, meaning that the owner will not be able to renew the (vehicle’s) road tax.

“If it involves a driver-related offence, the driving licence will also be blacklisted,” he said at a press conference after attending a Deepavali event at the transport ministry today.

From Nov 1 to Dec 30, all compoundable JPJ summonses will be eligible for a 50% discount under an amnesty initiative to encourage payment before the new year.

Loke said the initiative was part of efforts to improve compliance and reduce the number of outstanding offences.

Loke also said that JPJ P (22) notices made up the largest share of unpaid summonses at 3.68 million.

JPJ P (22) notices cover general road offences under Section 22 of the Road Transport Act 1987 such as driving without a licence or with an expired road tax, or illegal vehicle modifications.

This was followed by offences under the Automated Awareness Safety System (1.38 million), which are offences detected by automated cameras such as speeding and running red lights.
