Don't call back. It may be a Wangiri scam where the recipient of a missed call or silent call phones back and is connected to an expensive premium line.

dont talk first, let them talk
if they're not talking, they maybe recording your voice that recording can help them regenerate your voice using AI so that's the only danger from these scam calls if you dont give any information also dont let anyone tell you to download any apk or any link in browser that ended with dot apk. those are illegal apps that will monitor your banking apps its good if you install phone number identifier apps that will let you see what other people named them. sometimes you'll get number that is known by lots as scammer and the apps will tell you the name is scammer |

They already gotten your details from Truecaller lah. How you think Truecaller and such similar apps make money?
Truecaller steals your contact list when you install it, and then they build up their database. And then they SELL that database. |

I only switch on the affected number from 6PM to 6AM. Now not a single spam call received because spammers only work 9 to 5..

This time, there is a music playing in the background for about 5 seconds, then the voice of a man came up. I ended the call and blocked the number after that. These scam calls are getting a bit out of control. |

QUOTE(Hobbez @ Dec 10 2025, 04:30 PM) They already gotten your details from Truecaller lah. How you think Truecaller and such similar apps make money? It doesn't matter if the scammers got my details from Truecaller as long as bank details are intact and not leaked out. I find Truecaller to be useful as I know who are calling if it's from unknown numbers. IF not scammers, the names will appear on the screen. I usually or most of the time will answer calls even though they are from unknown numbers with weird names as I wouldn't know if it's a genuine call or otherwise. Nevertheless, from now onwards I'll likely just end the call if the names that come up on Truecaller are weird names. If it looks like a legitimate name, I'll take the call but wait for the person on the other line to talk first before I say anything. If there's no voice from the other line I"ll just hang up the call.Truecaller steals your contact list when you install it, and then they build up their database. And then they SELL that database. I think it is quite common nowadays to receive spam or suspicious calls.
My principle is simple: if the call is important, the caller will try again. If they don’t call back, they will usually text. If they do neither, then there is no real reason for us to return the call. From my experience, genuine callers always follow up: TM contractors will call repeatedly until they reach me before coming to my house to resolve a technical fault. Parcel delivery personnel will call first; if I don’t answer, they send a photo or message about the delivery. Work-related contacts given by colleagues will introduce themselves via text if I miss their call, and mention how they obtained my number. Family friends who couldn’t reach me would leave a voice message explaining the issue and request a callback. Since legitimate callers consistently demonstrate these behaviors, I don’t see any reason to feel obligated—or guilty—about ignoring unregistered missed calls. In my opinion, such calls can be safely disregarded. |

Same here, if its legit call they will try to call back, or they will whatsapp you, usually in my case when there is unknown number call, just ignore it, if they whatsapp after that, i will call it back or replied the whatsapp 😐📞🐞🐝👍 |
