Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed concern over the growing trend of glorifying bribe givers.
"Now we have a trend of idolising and glorifying bribe givers," the Prime Minister said, adding that this was worrying as it would impede the country’s ability to advance.
Speaking at the Works Ministry’s monthly assembly here on Monday (Dec 8), Anwar stressed that human values should not be compromised in the course of development.
He said the nation sometimes loses sight of its human values because of ideological or political differences.
He said it is not buildings and bridges that are built, as these structures are meant to serve humans.
"So human values should not be forgotten," he added.
eh but u glorify those who took the bribes, even work and collab with them.. invite them to open house function, dancing together with them, even during PRU sabah u openly supported the bribe takers even with written and video evidence..
Bribe givers are bad, they do it to gain for themselves... bribe takers, now that is betraying the trust of others that gives them that power. A pengkhianat. Both are bad but which should have higher punishment?

Cos it is easier to blame the givers? #ApaMaluBossKu?
What’s wrong with his cabinet? All made from kayu a? Then time to get budget to change to better ones la. Kesian him kena use cheap fibre board as cabinet. 😈

Both deserves equal punishment. Takes to hands to clap and both hands feels the same pain.

According to Facebook logic
Pemberi is the pengkhianat the dajjal the syaitan who tempt our officers and leaders
If don't have giver, Malaysia will be utopia islamic country ala Madani
This is not right, who gave the bribe and report to MACC will only get minimal punishment. Who received the bride will impose heavy punishment + barring all properties.
If you are more liberal, you are more accepting of bribe culture. Cos closing one eye is the norm and is part of liberal DNA.
If you are more conservative, then only you less accepting of bribe culture. The more hardcore conservative, the less you will close one eye. You will actively prosecute those who give bribes
Ini Anwar is not known for being a conservative. It's Atok.

It is not liberal but personal values. Upbringing, and the society that you live in plus integrity is what can reduce corruption.
