My company see who dare to report to JTK?
If report I'll reverse the 1day free holiday each week
All my company workers (including me) signed contract written 6days work per week.
This year (including this month) 1st time in attendance records all workers enjoyed free holiday pay 52days

Yeah not uncommon for manufacturing

Not shutdown for me but unpaid leave. So those days are just chill or light wfh which I don't really mind

Count my blessings. Since covid my workplace in MY has implemented this four out of the five years and only for mgmt. Thailand, Indonesia and Europe from mgmt to junior mgmt and exec level kena and now in Europe for more than a year shopfloor operators liao

Used to work in a factory and this was an annual thing. It was for maintenance, inventory, accounting etc.

It was something some employee looking forward to because can get 5 days leave and only deduct 2.5 days of AL. If you don't want, you can come in for inventory work.

PUTRAJAYA: Employers planning to extend business closures beyond the gazetted public holidays for Chinese New Year are reminded not to compel their workers to take annual or unpaid leave.

The Human Resource Ministry said it has received complaints from employees about employers forcing them to take annual or unpaid leave.

"We wish to emphasise that employees have the right to decide when to utilise their annual leave, and employers cannot force them to use their annual or unpaid leave to cut business costs.

"This is because annual and unpaid leave must be given based on the employee’s request and discretion,” the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday (Jan 28).

The ministry advised employees facing deductions in annual leave entitlement or salaries during extended company closures to report such cases to the nearest Labour Office under Section 69 of the Employment Act 1955.- Bernama
