DAP today acknowledged that its wipeout in the Sabah election reflected a “serious crisis of confidence” in both the party and Pakatan Harapan (PH).

Party secretary-general Loke Siew Fook said DAP had received “a strong and unmistakable message” from voters, and that campaign leaders had encountered widespread dissatisfaction throughout the campaign.

“After thorough reflection, we will compile all feedback received and work closely with the prime minister (Anwar Ibrahim) to accelerate the reform agenda over the next six months,” he said in a statement after an emergency central executive committee (CEC) meeting last night.

Loke also said that Sabah DAP had informed the CEC of its decision not to take up any positions in the state government, including appointed assembly seats.

“Sabah DAP leaders will continue to serve the people of Sabah actively and work to regain public confidence,” he said.

DAP was wiped out in Saturday’s polls, losing all eight seats it contested. The six seats previously held by the party – Likas, Kapayan, Elopura, Luyang, Tanjong Papat and Sri Tanjong – were swept by Warisan.

Loke said on polling night that he accepted full responsibility for the defeat and that the party leadership would take heed of the lessons from DAP’s performance.

Undi Warisan, dapat telor🫢🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Sabah for Sabahan. Let it be je la. At the end, is the rakyat decision. Parti Malaya all diam diam je la.

I go Sabah also only for vacation je pun. Not that they focus a lot on development.

Even the recent trip, city in Tawau no power supply, dorang ok je. Maybe they used to it. Tak bising pun, tak mogok pun.

Since DAP is now free from the administrative group, can be it more vocal against its own member now? Especially on corruption cases, and stop more corrupt practises by Musa A n frens?

Agree for PRN.
But PRU it should be a free for all. Which is more in line with Election Reform committee recommendations.

Next PRU East Malaysia will vote local party to have higher leverage against Peninsula in case PuAS won, they need the number to counter any R&R policies from applying to East Malaysia

Abang Jo already show that he can stop BMX's green policies, this give hope to East Malaysian to support local party

Yes keep the bashing of Sabahan chinese

Next round, Sabah & Sarawak show you what you truly reap when PH makes a mistake and loses enough seat in peninsula.

Sabah & Sarawak support whoever in federal be government as long as they leave Sabah & Sarawak alone.

Peninsula states on the other hand if PH loses enough seats thanks to Green wave to BN/PN .. oh yea, patutlah PH supporters goyang

The easterners think they live in a vacuum. They may reject the peninsular parties wholesale but the federal govt manouverings will always effect them in one way or another.

If they win federal government, should the concern be then spread into Sabah & Sarawak? Borneo have stronger resistance against PAS as compared to peninsula, so concern about yourselves first before bashing Sabahan chinese for not voting DAP.

Even if so, for Sabah, in parliamentary seats, maybe

In ADUN? PAS can continue to celebrate their 1 sole candidate which won due to previously being ADUN, and local ground support instead of PAS.

BN? They are already here since the very beginning, and their support is being eroded.

In Sarawak, got any sign of PAS/UMNO?

DAP suda merajuk .. 😆 why must say wakil cina? Lain-lain parti ignore sina ka? We prefer wakil semua kaum regardless of race.

However what the Chinese wants is also is also what the majority wants. Numbur 4D? beer? SJKC ? Religious tolerance? ... Even hybrid Chinese (sino) are Bumi.

Can DAP focus on local issues rather than issues at national level?

Are you ready to hear a truly neutral (might be lengthy) - Sabah first view? When I say listen, of course I am not forcing this down on you or anyone, its a truly deliberate intentional thought that was long brewing.

If yes, read further. If you are going to troll / bash / flame / come in with a bias to support any specific party - Then I suggest you not to open and proceed. Because if you do, might just make you look foolish. If you could have a reasonable and cool headed discussion, then welcomed.

Macai DAP from Peninsula will think that Sabahan rather vote for corrupted local party instead of clean and competent DAP candidate <-- many of them has superiority complex and racist view that DAP is the most competant party in the country due to majority of certain race brows.gif

Of course this will then lead to the conclusion of "padan muka so many frogs and corruption"

How to reconcile with macai DAP? confused.gif

Again, I respect your views despite it carries some sarcasm towards DAP

Their downfall in Sabah isn't exactly because they suck too much, its just that they don't do enough

That's that, and it doesn't mean that its over for them entirely despite it would be difficult

But whether they heed the lesson on overconfidence and be better, or just keep on going ahead as is
