This guy came from a family of at best middle class. He has no money. When he was young, he lived two blocks away from Daim. Both of them from Kedah. That's why he and Daim are close friends. He also has issues with the Chinese people because when he visited his LKY in Singapore, the Chinese taxi driver dropped him off at the servant quarters area instead of the house entrance, because he thought Mahathir was a house servant. You can google this fact, and the book is still publicly sold in Malaysia, and Mahathir never denied this event. So it is not fake.

Mahathir, despite being from a low to middle income family, somehow managed to produce two billionaire sons, namely Mirzan and Mokhzani. I don't know about you, but the odds of that ARE VERY LOW.

Let's not forget Mirzan required government bail out. The rumor is he contemplated suicide due to 1997 crash, and that Anwar was against it. This is the catalyst in Anwar-Mahathir split. Another fun fact is Mirzan married Jane, a Chinese indoneisan who at one point wanted to divorce him too. I don't recall the details but I believe Jane came from a billionaire family in Indonesia. Mirzan lost most of his assets during 1997 crash so not a billionaire anymore, but he is still very rich. Latest asset declaration shows he had over 200m RM

Then we have Mokhzani who is still a billionaire today from latest asset declaration.

Mukhriz himself is worth a lot too. Not sure of the numbers though, but he has a big fucking house in Bukit Damansara.

Put all this together. We all know PM's salary isn't that much. This is publicly known. So how the hell did Mahathir have money to have all his kids practically in high net worth or ultra high net worth individual category? You telling me they tabung menabung is it?

At least Nazir Razak aka Tun Razak's son or Najib's brother has a reason why he is rich. He was CIMB CEO. He climbed the career ladder. Mahathir's family straight up got their wealth from crony businesses.

As for Daim, we know he was rich before he joined politics, but he was also lucky to take advantage of NEP. That's like 90% of the reason why he is rich. What happened after politics is blurry. I guess that's up to Anwar to investigate.

A lot of people aren't aware but during Mahathir's time and Daim's time, they both had and likely still believe that by creating a class of corporate ultra-rich Malays, the benefits will be seen amongst the lower and middle class Malays too. This is trickle-down economics which is literally Mahathir and Daim's idea. And I'm not making this up. I'm quoting exactly from him. Also whist Daim is dead, his wife certainly believed in it too as evidenced by the latest Keluar Sekejap podcast few weeks ago. Examples of these corporate ultra-rich Malays that comes from Mahathir's and co idea - Halim Saad of UEM, Tajuddin Ramli of MAS, Daim (then again he was already rich, but not that billionaire rich yet), etc.

Also, they are all connected to UMNO. It's not a coincidence. They make these corporate Malays rich so when election comes, they donate money to fund UMNO. Before these ultra rich Malays, UMNO had to rely on MCA for money. It's true.

TLDR - Mahathir and co made themselves rich because they think the poorer Malays will benefit too. This picture is EXACTLY their mindset.



The entire culture or crony, nepotism, corruption came from Mahathir, by intention. Also, FYI, trickle-down economics used to be called as "Horse and Sparrow". Do you know why? The idea is that if the horse eats enough food, some of the food will be passed down in their shit, and the sparrow gets to eat it. Funny isn't? The poorer Malays literally eat jack shit but for some reason fooled into thinking they are benefitting from the "ultra rich Malays"

Konsortium Perkapalan Bhd is a locally registered company, which required Mahathir to bail Mirzan out otherwise he would have been a bankrupt man today, if not even dead.

Opcom under Mirzan was awarded TM contract worth hundreds of millions of millions while Mamak was still PM

Interestingly, when Mahathir became PM again, Opcom was awarded contract by TM again
