PETALING JAYA: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) will support Gabungan Rakyat Sabah chairman Hajiji Noor as chief minister while Perikatan Nasional has indicated that it will be in the opposition.
STAR president Jeffrey Kitingan confirmed that the party’s two assemblymen – himself and Bingkor assemblyman Ishak Ayub – will support Hajiji.

Kitingan congratulated Hajiji on his reappointment as the chief minister and also expressed gratitude to the voters who reelected him in Tambunan and backed Ishak to become the Bingkor assemblyman.

“Moving forward, STAR is committed to continue supporting the chief minister and constructively contributing to the state government’s agenda of development and stability.

“Sabah deserves to have a government that works together, especially in matters concerning its rights under the Federal Constitution and its long-term sovereignty,” he said in a statement.

The former deputy chief minister said his party remained committed to ensuring Sabah receives its entitlement to 40% of revenue derived from the state.

“We are prepared to support any genuine and bold effort to ensure Sabah’s rights,” he said.

Separately, PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin said the coalition, through its sole assemblyman, remained committed to serving as a “check and balance” on the new state government.

He congratulated state PAS chief Aliakbar Gulasan on his election as the Karambunai assemblyman, saying this result motivated PN to work even harder in Sabah.

Aliakbar was previously a nominated assemblyman appointed by the Hajiji administration in 2020. He sat in the government bloc up until the state assembly’s dissolution last month, although PN was rivals with GRS at the federal level.

Muhyiddin, the Bersatu president, said PN will conduct a holistic study and post-mosterm on its performance at yesterday’s election to identify how it can bolster its presence in the Bornean state.

“PN is committed to being a principled voice that serves as a check and balance, championing integrity and the people’s interests while offering itself as a stable and mature political alternative,” he said in a statement.

Hajiji was sworn in for a second term as the chief minister past 3am today. GRS had won 29 seats while Hajiji was also backed by five independent candidates, three assemblymen from Upko, and one from Pakatan Harapan.

Star pledges support for Hajiji, Jeffrey cites stability

Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) has thrown its support behind Hajiji Noor following his reappointment as Sabah chief minister, saying the election outcome must be respected and the state now needs a stable government.

Its president, Jeffrey Kitingan, said the vote reflected the “voice and aspirations of Sabahans” and that Star accepted the people’s choice.

Star used to be a component of the ruling Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) but...

1. Last
2. Quit

GRS have (29)

So in front of the queue have:
1. UPKO (3) +32
2. PH (1) +33
3. KDM (1) +34
4. BEBAS (5) +39 [Exceed simple majority by 2]

BN also say will support, so now see you bigger or BN bigger lo brows.gif

Makes no difference what

But, GRS have to decide for themselves lor, if have PH / BN / PN in will have certain safety margin in seats. However, the trade of is, now their manifesto is looked upon.

On top of that, if they accept STAR back, that will be scrutinized upon again especially if STAR gets positions brows.gif

Sabahan ditched DAP / BN due to unaccomplished manifesto + Sabah for Sabahan

Now GRS takes up both along with STAR while Warisan stay on course (with big gains in urban seats)

The more GRS meddle with BN / PH / PN, the higher risk they have lor

See Hajiji smart or not

See how smart Hajiji is or not lor

Level 1: Accept BEBAS + UPKO + KDM + PH + BN + STAR, next election wait to get farked [S4S + Corruption + Manifesto unachieved].

Level 5: Accept only BEBAS + UPKO + KDM + PH, bash BN, next election secure BN seats.

Level 10: Accept only BEBAS + UPKO + KDM, lock in all, bash BN and have higher chance to secure BN and absorb back the BEBAS seats.

Level 50: Accept only BEBAS + UPKO + KDM, lock in all > Make a move against master TYT. Success. Seen as Sabahan hero, wins BN / BEBAS / Warisan / PN / STAR seats.

Level 100: Make peace with Warisan, infest Warisan, casuse Warisan internal rift, kick Shafie out, Make a move against master TYT. Seen as Sabahan hero, wins BN / BEBAS / Warisan / PN / STAR seats.

So majority by 8 without BN, Warisan and PN.

Since he can now utilize this then..

Got, but not likely to achieve this level, need to pre-order expansion pack to unlock.

Level 500: Proclaim that GRS will now be GRMalaysia, enter peninsula PRU16 upon ousting TYT.

This is exactly level 100.

No need other smaller parties [minimum for consideration = UPKO (3)] as it encourages fragmentation. With these 2, already GRS (29) + Warisan (25) already hit 53, more than 2/3 majority.

Then all kataks, bebas and smaller warlord will now cease to exist.

But nah, which politician is truly altruistic?

idk about altruistic, its more pragmatic for the long-term especially after what feds tried to do by planting alberto to snare jiji and company if i understood it correctly.

I mean early on, PH ( especially PKR) were trying to wrest more seats from GRS during negotiation prior before elections, asides from other issues

Sabahan need to set their priority right

The fights is against Malaya

Number 1 is to get back the 40% allocation from the resources collected by federal gov

Number 2 is to have Sabah Sarawak represent 35% in Parliament seat

Number 3 is to demand financial autonomy and devolution of administrative powers based on MA63

East Malaysia need to demand NO MORE AND NO LESS stated in MA63

so what's the composition for the upcoming GRS 2.0 admin? UPKO + 5 bebas + PKDM + BN support hajiji as CM while Warisan + PN as oppo?
judging from press conference, macam Warisan belum decide yet to become opposition for the 17th assembly.

eh this time, political parties are just fishing and testing waters coz you never know...

i mean that last minute plot twist about alberto revealing the plot to bring Jiji and frens under the control of feds is kinda yikes...

pkr as usual bullying their way to get what they want and theres plenty of evidence of this behavior in volatile discussions during seat negotiations with GRS. Im not surprised if UPKO will try ask Hajiji to sideline PKR from the cabinet since they had it bad from those bullies too. l

Was present to hear the press conference and the ground sentiment.

Warisan so far, is seen making the decision to shake the tree and see if any fruit falls. But their main stance, is to continue going on as single solo party, it is working for them as despite their lost in some seats, they gained a very key support from the recently won DAP seats.

Ground voices after post-mortem is very significant, they perceive and understood that they lost some seat due to "$ offerings" in certain districts, past candidates not properly dealt with and also some bebas was funded to just take some tickets away in fragile seats.

Also a lot of Warisan-sympathizer (from voting not Warisan candidates) indicating that Shafie is very experienced and well spoken, with the repeated message of "Uniting Sabahans".

That's what I gathered so far. Not sure about other parties since was not there too.

You are right, Warisan is trying to shake the tree and see if any fruit falls. But their main stance is still going single solo party. They seem to be very content with what they have gained, but was disappointed not to be able to do better.

But GRS is also slightly chaotic within at the moment. Some grassroots wants inclusion of BN (met with resistance); and STAR (same, with resistance) due to the concern that the BEBAS cannot be locked down and may sway therefore they need the seat security (same logic as odd hour swearing in). UPKO was also not fully trusted due to their past relationship with Warisan.

But there are also voices that do not want BN/STAR/PH to be included - focus on BEBAS, KDM and UPKO as they worry that having peninsula party will slap back against S4S sentiment, while STAR is seen as Katak, as usual, may paint GRS as turning blind eye on corruption.

when is the 17th state assembly gonna be open? they need to present & pass the budget for next year right?
only then we can see where exactly Warisan stand gonna be. Either as opposition with Confident & supply agreement with GRS or join GRS.

PH memang is almost irrelevant already in this situation. They knew very well they not well versed in understanding local sentiment and wants. Therefore they depend mostly on DAP to retain. But that too, failed.

At most would be confident & supply IF they concede

But otherwise, will just remain as pembangkang, work behind the scene

Next 17SA should be expected within 30 days

If got drama then would be longer
