If your selective definition is "self-governing", then Wa and parts of Shan states has been self governing for a long time. So if Malaysia sends troop to "defend", then it is not invasion? Please tell me.

The option to use force has been there since Mao's time. Why? It's still a civil war that has not officially ended. If you look at whatever coming out from CCP, it's always about Taiwan independence. That is the line they will not tolerate. Do you think China want a war? Do you think they don't know the consequences of having a war so near their mainland? More importantly, do you think Taiwanese are so stupid to cross that line after seeing what happened to Ukraine?

Taiwanese has always been voting very wisely. People see DPP has the president but in reality if you look at the last presidential election, 60% of Taiwanese vote for status quo. Look at how much China Taiwan trade has been going the past few decades. Millions of Taiwanese today are in mainland doing biz and working. Do you think Taiwanese want to jeopardize what they have today when they are enjoying best of both worlds.

1) Do you support war?
2) If the answer is no to (1), do you support someone stopping the war via deterrence?
3) If the answer is yes to (2), then Japan is not wrong at all.
4) If the answer is no to (2), then it means you support war.

Anyway, no use talking to someone who couldn't form proper arguments and just regurgitate the same ad hominem attack: "you were brainwashed", "you hate China", "you support Japan". I am out.
