and Ho Ching must have forgotten what the Japanese soldiers did to her great/grand parents back then that he loves Japan so much.

ho ching is 72 yo. if she can feel an urge to move on from the past because she didnt personally experienced the war, what do you think her grandchildren feel? outside of china, almost all young people under 30 dont have a resonance with the ww2 gen and their stories, they in fact can be seen to be embracing jap culture judging by the popularity of anime cosplay, tourism in japan etc.

boomer and uncles gen in k who support CCP might find this hard to swallow, but it is what it is. as your generation dies out, such calls to move on will only grow stronger unless you were indoctrinated since kindergarden to only remember nanjing and unit 731 every time ww2 is brought up like in china. this is also why the current gen in taiwan dont feel a strong reunification pull like their KMT parents gen.

But now atuk is too old, must find a new boogeyman, probably PuAS is an ideal replacement.

I truly believe that he that this is his personal and real belief, his retraction later on was the politics 101. and personally I agree with his statement.
