If hotel still provide electricity, water and room cleaning service. Then the customer should pay. I no water or electricity then need to discount.

Severe flooding in southern Thailand has left thousands of Malaysians stranded in Hat Yai and Songkhla, prompting a swift humanitarian response from United Sikhs Malaysia. 

Volunteers from the Sikh United network crossed the border with boats, trucks, and relief supplies after receiving urgent calls from stranded families.

Their first mission involved evacuating Malaysians trapped in a hotel surrounded by waist-deep water. 

Heavy rains and overflowing rivers have cut off roads and disrupted transport.

The team distributed food, clean water, and medical supplies, while assisting Thai authorities in evacuation efforts. 

The Sikh United initiative has been praised for embodying cross-border compassion, with Malaysians expressing gratitude for the volunteers’ timely intervention.

Hat Yai continues to face severe flooding, with experts warning that the city's economic zone will remain submerged at least until mid-December.

Assoc Prof Seree Supratid, director of the Climate Change and Disaster Centre at Rangsit University and vice president of the National Disaster Warning Council Foundation, said on Tuesday that despite falling water levels upstream in Sadao district, downstream flows will increase before reaching the city, exacerbating the flooding.

After water recede, cleaning, repairing, replacement etc .... I forsee it will take until at least January 2026. I am sure they want to re-open Hatyai to the Chinese New Year and Raya crowd in Feb/Mar 2026
