Hello,

I am having TIME 600mbps connections on my condo.

Wifi signal is Fine over the whole house with this Wi-Fi 7 Router from TIME.

My question as follows:

I need to connect 2 units of NAS on RJ45 in my study room, which does not have RJ45 connections.

And also my Mini PC .. only got a wifi 5 Connection on board ( So to say I could not get max speed on this setup of 600 Mbps. )

at the moment running on speed test, I can only get a max of about 160 Mbps over my 600 Mbps from TIME

so. If I were to add a mesh from TIME ..which I can place this mesh at my study room, to connect my 2 units of Nas, and hopefully also connect my Mini PC over RJ 45 instead of wifi 5 .

refer photo os Time Mesh unit..

Ini mesh got 4 holes to connect RJ45 ...Right ???

I am ok with the 399 budget,,

I just wanna be sure if this will work out for me ..

thank you for your comment reply .

cheers

Internet broadband service is on a best effort basis, usually you will get max speed that is less than advertised speed. The speed also depends on the time of usage during the day, in general if other Time users in your condo also using their internet at the same time, it will return less speed for everyone.

If your wifi coverage generally okay through out your unit, the mesh device will not help in increasing the speed. Mesh setup usually use to fix issue on dead zone, if some area in your unit unable to get Wifi signal or the signal is very weak then yes it will help in increasing the signal to the area.

If your concern is to get the max speed for your devices, mesh device will not help because of the connection best effort aspect. But if you want to improve Wifi signal in your unit, get the mesh device.

You can also do some test, connect your NAS and pc direct to existing Time router LAN port and see if got any difference if it is on LAN connection and on Wifi connection from your room.

Nas is something you don't touch often
Why not just place it next to router?

As for your mini PC, check if you can change the wifi voard

For NAS, if TS want faster access, he/she should add the NAS to the mesh unit at study room or closest mesh unit, if you connect the NAS from source first/source mesh
the latency might increase if it's too far.
