Hello, I'm looking at this C530WS from tp link, as many of u recommended tp link, is this model any good ? To me it seems solid and tick all my criteria, meant for outdoor usage, records video and audio, have night vision, 360 camera, built in alarm, would like to know the experience from people who uses it before i go ahead.

Does it continuously record or only when it detects motion?

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Nov 17 2025, 03:21 PM) Does it continuously record or only when it detects motion? According to them - The C530WS can do both - it can record continuously 24/7 or only when motion is detected. You can enable 24-hour continuous recording through the Tapo app settings if you have enough SD card storage space. So, is it a good buy ? It's priced around 237 with 128 GB sd card included. I am currently using C500. No complaint so far.

Yes, it's very good. Super clear and excellent night vision.
And it really is the best in the market, cheap, good app and great image quality.
The only model that's better than this is the Tapo C560WS but that's a 4K model and it will probably cost a bomb when it arrives

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Nov 17 2025, 03:55 PM) I am currently using C500. No complaint so far. Just curious, I have used a few IP Camera before. I noticed most have a slight lag. for example , if i wave my hand, i can notice a slight lag. is it the same for this camera? Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance Yes, all CCTV got a slight delay but Tapo is considered really good Expect around half a second delay if using the same WiFi or around 1 second on a fast 5G connection It's digital signal so all the processing and network transmission will take some time. It's like a delay on video call.

I've been using C520WS for nearly a year now. At my parent's house. Never had any issue. Clear recording, day & night. Can follow object (car, animal, etc). Can set the recording trigger, alarm trigger, etc. Easy to set. I believe C530WS is better model. Should perform better.

Thank you all for the feedback, appreciate it, didn't know C530WS is such a good outdoor cctv and the best in the market so far, just stumbled upon it initially, will proceed to get this with 128 GB, thanks all !
