Something doesn't add up. Can't be the low oil indicator didn't come on.. he would have seen it. Unless he really so "suey" that there is an oil leak and his sensor also not working at the same time.

Even he didn't see or ignored the indicator, he would have felt something wrong while driving before it ran completely out of engine oil.

This story very sus. Skyactiv petrol engines are known to be reliable. Need to investigate what really happened here.

Update : Reading his latest facebook post, looks like it's a combination of sus engine oil and spirited driving. Mechanic didn't find any significant oil leaks that may have contributed to the oil "disappearing".
