During the S&P agreement, I signed with Lawyer A

During MOT transfer, can I change to another lawyer? Or must I signed with Lawyer A again?

Lawyer A said if I change to another lawyer, i must pay penalty charge. Is there such a thing?

well if you agreed to use Lawyer A at the first place, then decided to pull out during later stage, they have to rights to forfeit some of your fees because they have started to open a file for you, do some preliminary works.. all those are not free..

It's the developer who assigned the lawyer.

S&P is just an agreement, the stamp duty is either just a few ringgit..
MOT is the title transfer where the stamp duty is calculated based on your property value.. can be within few hundreds till ten of thousands.. this one usually waived by developer as its more 'tempting' to buyers..

if MOT is waived by developer, then the requirement is to use the same laywer the developer assigned.. else u have to pay everything..
