The High Court judges have a legal duty to provide sufficient reasons for their decisions so I am not sure why you think they are not required to do so.

The failure to do so is a ground for appeal by itself. It involves a question of law and not a question of fact because it's regarding the legal sufficiency of the reasons provided by the High Court and not factual findings themselves. It's an error of law or procedural irregularity.

That’s the problem. The law doesn’t seem to require HC judges to provide full reasoning. They can just say, “I agree with the magistrate’s decision,” and leave it at that, no need to explain further.

Then the Court of Appeal won’t even touch it, which basically means the magistrate’s decision stands by default.

That’s why Parliament should mandate High Court judges to prepare full written judgments, not just selective answers especially when an appeal is filed to the COA !!
