QUOTE(version46 @ Nov 4 2025, 05:10 PM) Actually, the news might not be accurate. They reported the arrest happened around 4 PM, but the ambulance arrived at 12:56 PM. That’s a big gap. He was probably caught somewhere else, not in the hotel room. That’s likely why the police are now saying they’re reviewing CCTV footage and have reclassified the case. Most likely, he was arrested outside the hotel and never brought back to the room. But after checking the CCTV, they can now confirm he was the last person to have contact with the girl. |

QUOTE(Schumacher @ Nov 4 2025, 05:04 PM) Adui, yes you can raise it. But the judge isn’t required to provide his own reasoning in the Grounds of Judgment to show that the elements are fulfilled and that’s the problem. The High Court judges have a legal duty to provide sufficient reasons for their decisions so I am not sure why you think they are not required to do so.The judge can just respond based on the leave granted by the Court of Appeal which involves questions of law only. The failure to do so is a ground for appeal by itself. It involves a question of law and not a question of fact because it's regarding the legal sufficiency of the reasons provided by the High Court and not factual findings themselves. It's an error of law or procedural irregularity. |

It involves a question of law and not a question of fact because it's regarding the legal sufficiency of the reasons provided by the High Court and not factual findings themselves. It's an error of law or procedural irregularity. That’s the problem. The law doesn’t seem to require HC judges to provide full reasoning. They can just say, “I agree with the magistrate’s decision,” and leave it at that, no need to explain further. Then the Court of Appeal won’t even touch it, which basically means the magistrate’s decision stands by default. That’s why Parliament should mandate High Court judges to prepare full written judgments, not just selective answers especially when an appeal is filed to the COA !! |

QUOTE(Kelefeh @ Nov 4 2025, 05:35 PM) You’d be surprised how many people end up being together after being tricked for the first time. The drugs served in KTVs don’t make you completely out like GHB, ecstasy and K especially, makes people horny. So a lot of girls that didn’t know they got drugged thought they willingly slept with the guy coz they felt horny. |
