The traction rating is not accurate tho for each different tire manufacturer. As per feedback few post before, i got highlight even Westlake Sport SA37, has a UTQG rating of 280 AA A also not vey good in wet condition during actual test. Is better to check for independent test report like those from tyre review comparing few actual tires on the same testing ground/facility for a more fairer comparison.

https://www.consumerreports.org/cars/tires/...0the%20warranty.

Summary: UTQG ratings are not entirely accurate because manufacturers self-report the grades based on limited testing, which allows for manipulation and a lack of standardization between brands. The treadwear test is conducted only for 7,200 miles, requiring manufacturers to extrapolate the results, and they are allowed to under-report a tire's potential life to provide a lower, more competitive number for that specific model.

The AA grading is somehow tricky because some budgets brands are playing trick on this. Like achilles tyres they have 1 tyre pattern (forgot the name) the rating is AA. Yes the wet grip is good when the tyre is new, but after 20% usage the wet traction slump. This is reported by many car enthusiasts.

For UTQG it is US standard but many tyre brand can play trick on it. But at least do not buy the tyre with treadwear below 300 if we hope for 40k km lifespan. Those treadwear 400 we can expect 40k km +-.

It is always good that we can check the tyre review online before buying the tyre. However most Chixx or south east asia tyre brands do not have testing result because they are cap ayam brand. In China if we have money we can ask the OEM factory to put the brand name like littlefire tyre or autodriver tyre and sell it to Malaysia. Best part is both brands same bunga, sidwall, all the tyre content are exactly same because from the same factory.

Yes, that why always do some research or check for independent reviews before purchase 1.
Dont always rely from tire shop or someone clamming it is god like good on paper or tire without any other reference to verify/compare.

I have bought Primacy SUV+ before, but size is 245/55 R19 when my previous SUV kumho tyres were at ODO 44,000km. The different was very obvious.

As I know it, right now the Primacy 5 SUV is quite a bit more expensive than Primacy SUV +. If you are on some kind of budget, just get the Primacy SUV+ will do.

That is not a long life tyre right ?

Personally I would prefer quietness and long life tyres. Performance less priority, as my car has AWD to counter some of the wet situation.

If you ask me, UX7 is the more newer model with better braking performance. Primacy SUV+ is like design for longer lasting (higher wear rate) & durable for SUV besides from comfort nothing to wow about from what i knew in market.

From what I am aware, Hankook is quite a lot better than my previous Kumho. Coz back in 2018, Sorento 2.2 Diesel comes with 2 different brands of tyres. Unfortunately I got mine with Kumho, test driven Sorento member's car with Hankook VP3 tyres, damn it was so much quieter than my bloody Kumho.

Nowadays Kumho improved quite a lot
Need to see what model, example latest Kumho Premium Touring HS52 manage to beat latest VP4 also on overall ranking.

Another detail comparison between similar category

Sadly not much people advertise about them compared to Hankook.

my experience with UC6 when reach 45k km, i can start feel tyre tend to skid when on wet road running around 90km/hr, that time my thread still look good but terus change due to skidding issue. Then i change to bridgestone Alenza 001 which last me from 45k km to 115km, recently getting pirelli cinturato rosso for new tyres, satisfy though. My advice is when tyre tend to skid on wet road in low speed, no matter the thread look nice or not, time to change biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
