I have a question, how do you get your passengers?

1) Does the school admin assist to connect you to students? You have to register with the school to be driver.

2) Facebook helps?

3) word of mouth?

4) charge how much per month in Klang valley?

5) Do you charge by KM radius ?

6) Put telephone number on your van

How to operate school bus you should check with Jpj not school.

But if you refer to transporter, if you ever go fetch kids from school, you should notice. Som school. Like my kids srjkc, they tampal who, what contact, what area served for transporter. For bigger transport like van or daycare transports instead of cars, they even gazetted what area to wait specifically for that daycare.

Not sure how they vet but likely just help pass info only or connect supply and demand only.

Exactly, you need to be smart to grab the business, even at my place also some of the van no aircond, they work like a donkey pick and send kids, imagine if they got 4 vans work at the same time plus doing 4 trips per day, per month wonder how much they earn 😱🐝🐝😱

actually for me fetching my children to school is the most fun experience.

of course, every job/business got challenges lor.

jobs/business is to solve problems. If no issue then what for have jobs/business unless dedak business?

Look at the bright side, after fetching kids in morning, can sleep/rest until back to noon to go to school and take them back home.

And then depends on you whether you want more money and expand to evening school.

Even then, you can still sleep/rest in afternoon.

Its not an 8 hour work/day.

after dropping off kids, you can morning have breakfast at kopitiam look at phone or go to gym run run or attend exercise - pilate or yoga then shower, then go to starbuk to drink coffee read book, then noon pick up the kids lor.

as you said slowly is safer, so one to one is the best

because you build up rapport from there

if you straight away start classroom, if you rented shop house, you gonna potentially lose a lot of capital if it doesn't work out.

I personally know one guy who has been doing one-to-one tution for 10 years.

Just saw/realized your reply.
Think you should also think the other way round.

Like one forummer said. Be active in your community. Like I saw, in out community Facebook, on and off you’ll see parents asked if got transporter to recommend. From what school to where. But those likely is from day care back at home. (After go daycare from school) since it’s niche in terms of destination and pickup place. I even saw as late in the year as yesterday.

Another way round is, go check daycare instead of school. Ask if there is a need to fetch their student from the school to their center. Likely they have agreement with some but might not be enough, demand surge or expansion. They might need it for a new branch.

Also I saw a lot of private transporter (imagine housewife fetching kids with a car) they joined school volunteer parents. Morning volunteer to help kids out or their car outside school. Maybe it’s a circle of promo / contribute back to school.

depends...

I got one friend, he still single in 50s....

he starts work at 4pm onwards until 10pm.

then at night, he has to do research and prepare for lessons next day until 3am.

He sleeps until 12 noon, wake up gets his lunch, rinse and repeat.

then in weekends at night, he go play futsal.

well...of course its tiring

but he is single, in his mid 50s

he's being doing this for decades

the disadvantage is that he doesn't get his EPF employer contribution

he once told me he had a traumatic experience at his employer, he doesn't want to go back to work anymore

this is why it is useful when one has extra capabilities, such as ability to give tution, eg piano lessons as a hedge against unemployment
