*
Exactly, you need to be smart to grab the business, even at my place also some of the van no aircond, they work like a donkey pick and send kids, imagine if they got 4 vans work at the same time plus doing 4 trips per day, per month wonder how much they earn 😱🐝🐝😱

as you said slowly is safer, so one to one is the best

because you build up rapport from there

if you straight away start classroom, if you rented shop house, you gonna potentially lose a lot of capital if it doesn't work out.

I personally know one guy who has been doing one-to-one tution for 10 years.
*
Actually one to one would be the best, more personalised 🐝

depends...

I got one friend, he still single in 50s....

he starts work at 4pm onwards until 10pm.

then at night, he has to do research and prepare for lessons next day until 3am.

He sleeps until 12 noon, wake up gets his lunch, rinse and repeat.

then in weekends at night, he go play futsal.
*
Must be tiring, wonder how many students he got, one to one tuition? 😅🐝

QUOTE(hoonanoo @ Nov 13 2025, 02:52 PM)
well...of course its tiring

but he is single, in his mid 50s

he's being doing this for decades

the disadvantage is that he doesn't get his EPF employer contribution

he once told me he had a traumatic experience at his employer, he doesn't want to go back to work anymore

this is why it is useful when one has extra capabilities, such as ability to give tution, eg piano lessons as a hedge against unemployment

Lots of freelancer nowdays, tired tight to organisation etc 9 to 5 work, no life 😩🐝❤️
