Hi all. My 8-9 years old house already have leak at the toilet. It's affecting the opposite side of the wall.
The contractor gave us 2 suggestion.
1. Just do external piping. Easy. - wife don't want
2. Hack the tiles to try to find the leak. Problem is i contacted the tiles supplier they don't produce those tiles anymore. So it will be weird if I use a different tiles on some spot.
You guys face this situation before?
Are there any smarter way to do it? Or maybe different tiles design solution?
Thanks.

QUOTE(lj0000 @ Oct 21 2025, 01:02 PM) External pipe use copper or chrine Yeah the easiest is external. If I do that I plan to use stainless steel for lor. But wife very hesitant. To me either one will be ugly. Unless we have a creative way on the hacking and using some clever design on the tiles.

Out of the question lor. . 3 toilet lehhh.. eye sore all together...haha instead of hacking the tiles 1 by 1 to find the leak, find those more professional 1 using tools to listen and check leaking. if your external facade is painted wall then I don't see a issue with external pipe. just paint it the same color as the wall or do a whole house repainting after the pipe is installed.

Possible to salvage the tiles and rearrange in pattern, and fill the gaps with new ones?

So now scratching my head how to do it creatively. how much are you looking at if you were to redo the tiles after hacking? assuming similar design (with wifey's consent) external is easy, but cleaning is a pain from what I've seen at my parents.

So now scratching my head how to do it creatively. No choice. we cannot trust the contractors all the time. when u did the major renovation, suppose to change all the pipes and tile it. Dont they keep any spare tiles ? after having this issues, i usually keep few pieces of spare tiles as well.
