Can't get ip using dhcp,
But static can...
Problem was my sis laptop need connect to other WiFi during study....
Which using dhcp.....
And she not tech savvy....
What the problem with dhcp?
I check my router ip pool still got left over free address unused...
I got reserve ip base on mac in router....

Is your sister's laptop is a MacBook running latest macOS ?

In macOS there is a feature to rotate Wifi mac address. This is to improve privacy. Looks like have to turn off feature to use DHCP.

My office some laptop also same....

don undersatnd, say home wifi, then outside wifi
reinstall wifi driver?

on windows 11 can random mac address, i not sure windows 10 got such option, my old windows 10 pc don have wifi, cannot test

make sure the laptop wifi IP and DNS is set to auto.
office laptop might have their on configuration setup by the IT Dept.

school wifi cant connect unless remove the static ip

auto school wifi can connect
but home wifi can't connect, need static ip...

have you try restart the router?

Try put DHCP lease time 28800.

I can tell you what is the fucking problem and it has nothing to do with ip range or whatever.

It is all because of encryption with all these damn routers. When you had nothing much connected, the laptop negotiate highest speed with the router using WPA3. Then once you got lower end devices connected, the damn router will lower the encryption as backward compatibility. You can either goto the saved wifi network setting and set the encryption as WPA2, type your wifi password again. Or goto into your router, and change encryption to WPA2 only instead of WPA2/3

when at home, can your sister laptop receivde dhcp lease? what is the ip address? try troublehooting option?

You should call your ISP and explain your situation to them. One of my customers encountered such an issue before, they called up the ISP and did something at their end, and it works after that.

some router, may left out the reserve ip from the dhcp list IP. you can clear the reserve ip or remove the laptop reserve ip

Make sure the DHCP service is running under Computer Management > Services.
