Hi, I have a shipment of some books and comics and one of them was seized by kastam. I suspect that it might contain some nudity art in it but I'm not sure as I only saw the cover.

Do they just seize and destroy them and I don't have to do anything? It states there that they will notify me after 60 days after the "kajian"

They released the rest of the books and comics and left the yellow seizure slip in the package.

Anyone got this before?

you can head over kastam office to directly check with them
sometimes will kena fine but still can get back the stuff

I don't mind not getting it back, if it's not allowed anyway. I ship in many books and comics, so if it's one missing it's ok.

I just wanted to know how big a deal it is and how much trouble it is. If there's a need to pay a fine then so be it. But the slip didn't ask me to go over to collect, merely said that I'd be notified after 60 days of their "Kajian".

Will probably check thoroughly with the sellers next time and avoid anything that has a probability of not being allowed.

if you dont mind then you can just ignored it

as for trouble, it really depends on how far the kastam office is to you

i kena once before last time on an archery bow

i did not wait 60days, i straight head over to their office pay some taxes and got it back
the process itself is less than 15min there

Not really sure where it is. Probably near KLIA or something.

On the slip it mentioned something about morality or something. That's how I figured it may contain inappropriate material.

Did your also indicate that 60 day "Kajian" thing?

Just hope I don't get referred to the cops because of the printing act.

i dont exactly remember what was written but the reason they told me when i reached there was archery bow is considered a dangerous weapon and its banned

i somehow convince them its a sport equipment n paid the taxes

if your book/comic not those porn magazine etc, should be no issue 1

you can just say its the cover image a bit inappropriate and open up let them see the content

Thanks for the info.

Do this. Usually customs will stop items with a high declared value.
My mum from US sent me a bunch of branded clothes and she put 250usd value on the form.
I had to go pick it up from the Port Klang customs depot. T_T
Problem was my mum used her new husband's surname so didn't match my IC. Paid 100+ for "taxes" and that was that.

I recommend you do something about your shipment ASAP.
If a package got stopped, it's unlikely that customs will change their decision.

The item itself isn't important to me. I just buy and ship in quite a few comics (Marvel, DC and some smaller and independent publishing) every month.

Based on my years of experience with them importing goods. This is not a very big issue. Not to worry. You won't be punished by going to jail or receiving any fines. Just wait for the inspection to conclude. That's all. Stay calm, and be patient. You will receive what is allowed to be received.

Anyone stopped by KDN? In this case it's a KDN form, after closer look. It's a penahanan form. As I think the restricted stuff is quite broad, I should actually ask the seller about the content of the books/ comics, to avoid bringing in anything that they deem as unsuitable.

Don't think too much..

Custom usually thinks it's worth more than x amount and would ask you to pay tax.

What is x, you decide yourself. Maybe they'll ask for proof. My time they didn't ask for proof.

Just be happy you gonna receive the items you've been waiting for 🙂

yeah the taxation part is pretty straight forward. I've dealt with those myself and through runners.

In this case they've released all other items except one, which they replaced with a KDN slip informing that they will take 60 working days to "Kaji" and notify me.

And since they tagged it as something relating to morality, I supposed it would be related to nudity art or something sexual.

Anyway, as one of the previous replies indicated, I just wait for them to go through the process. Nothing much I can do about it anyway.
