I will do the same as that guy , shouting loud at you . You must be a nuisance not concentrating to the movie and keep chatting in SMS.

I tell you why?
1) You are not the only person who pays to come into the cinema
2) Your light distracting our concentration when we pay to get trance when the movie starts.
3) Everyone has a handphone and if everyone keeps busy with it, guess what happen.
4) For once in the cinema, less than 2 hours. Keep the outside world shut and enjoy your personal time.
5) If you don't respect people by shutting out , don't expect people to respect you also.
6) You are dealing with professional Movie Goers or Critics who are obsessed with Art and Creativity in Film, what do you know?
7) Welcome to HELL CINEMA.

dude, i totally agree with you. we are on the same side here. people just don't know when the time to work, chit chat , fanning another *******, flirt etc. There 's a time for all these . The reason we go to watch in cinema is to connect to Miracles , Sceneries, emotion etc..not ringtones or any sound that will BREAK the FREQUENCIES between the MIND and the MOVIES

i don't agree with No 2. Do not use soft approach like "Shh" it makes you weak. I done that. I rather shout " HoI! Diam lah! use English if necessary. This shows more authority and he wont fight back. Tested and proven. Usually, soft approach can sparks bigger fire. I use America approach by going offensive and usually it works. Don't use Malaysia style, like walking away from problem . This approach had embedded into us already for too long.

well , first of all i find you receptive to other people opinion and have some rational thinking abit which is good sign for a change.
If you are willing to change and absorb my opinion, you will APPRECIATE movie better than u had b4. Of course we can't obtain a 100 % Blown Out Experience like in a private cinema hall or home theatre experience. We the small minorities believe it will change if we get into the nerves of the laymen.

Cinema used to be smoky, wandering tom and jerry, talking cowboys, Motorola handphones and lots of Peanut Crackers. Now we have a lot of improvized nuisance that causes new troubles. What difference does it make between the 60s, 70s, 80, 90s and 2000 onwards. about the same am i right.

hey thanks, next time when u heard somebody shouting out loud to a culprit, that could be me . Only a few like us that will defend the rights of another cinema patrons. People like us normally risk it and make a difference in the comfort of others. This is the sacrifice lo. I raised my voice to GSC cinema manager b4, to TGV cinema manager b4, the flirting couples, the big bullies, the Friends - about 5-10 people b4 , ah beng , the indian hooligans etc. you name it and im still walking tall since 1980.

After every movies you watch, try to go to Wikipedia to check the background of the movie you had just watch. There are hidden stuff you could find from the movie and actors background. Sometimes the director have 2 versions of Ending scene . Movies such as Descent and 28 Day later have a different ending in another twist.

these are intolerable for me
some ignorance parents just bring their child, and their child act like monkey in the cinema
so i never watch any cartoon movie in cinema
*
Usually , i avoid morning and afternoon shows because of this. sometimes i rather see it on weekdays when the parents were busy.

the cinema operators should put a warning noticeboard to reduce the loud voice created by childrens.
i asked for refunds b4 by walking out from the movie. At least i dont have to bear the noise pollution in there while watching movies.

yes im in my early 20s...

my alternative is tolerate which ever thing u can tolerate as long as it's not over the limit

the person u shouted loud for seeing a sms in the cinema could be the person driving a car behind u which is horning the hell out of ur ears for ur bad driving... ( just an example )

my conclusion, everything in life is about tolerance. learn to give and take and life will be happier for u instead of being so hard headed bout things in life
*
i do agree with you about being tolerance. Something i use to be in your shoe before but things doest work that way in a very real real world. If you have lacky standard, your judgement will be blur between imagination and reality or between good and bad.

Eg. When people in the cinema notice the cinema curtain not close which leaves a lot of lights in, they don't really care also especially the one close to it. Even when the Image creating a blury image, nobody knew how to go about it like approaching the person next to him for a second opinion if he's encountering the same problem and need to address the issue to the cinema assistant.

We are living in a Civilized world tolerating each other but because of one bad rotten apple talking almost all the time in the cinema or his/her phone keeps raining with ringtone.. this is where my true colour will reveal.

Rejection and learning to say 'NO' makes alot of difference . I can't hold back and leave happily with lacky services or standards because we deserve it after we worked hard for it.

Some of you here said even answering a short call is considered annoying? Can you guys be bit tolerance?

I usually put my phone on silence. Never like the idea of switching it off. Sms I'll ignored it because sms is never considered emergency but I will answer calls. I try to cover my phone as much as possible so the light will not affected the one sitting beside me. And I also speak real softly too. Is this consider an annoyance too?

I agree with the one saying zero tolerance = zero consideration. If you cant tolerate others, why should others tolerate you? You dont expect others to follow every single rules and ethic. What if your family is admitted to the hospital suddenly and they call you? You sure you wont answer it? If you still insist no, you're a big moron.

I usually off my phone . What Emergency Call! I never receive any emergency call before . I expect everyone to call 911 for emergency call instead of anyone to trouble the person. If its a Breaking News, it will happen even after the movie .

Emergency call ? Try to plan ahead and educate family members to use a proper safety precaution lah, its not that you are a superman who can fly there immediately. If someone died, that's a breaking news and not an emergency call. There is a difference .

Ignorance in pre-planning is malaysian style. Why not work ahead of everything before u visit the cinema again.

Of all the time, emergency happens when you are in the cinema. lol

1980 - no handphone time , what emergency call ?
1990 - got handphone already, never receive once an emergency call .
2000- got handphone already, still no emergency call
2007 - not a trace of this species.

i admit my tolerance and patience also has it's limit..
if a person's phone keep ringing loudly in cinema. i will voice out politely and ask him to silent it.. or please talk outside..

but if a person just read a SINGLE sms during the whole movie. i will compromise and tolerate that..

thats the diff between u and me.. our level of tolerance..

u cant even tolerate the slighest thing which go against ur will
*
normally, i let the person go off lah. i think u got me wrong here. i wont react that easily just because a person read his SMS . If he keeps chatting non-stop using SMS, i will try to shove his shoulder and ask him to stop that. most of the time, they understood . they are human being also.

well , i think u have phobia next time reading your sms. let your brain relax and rest for awhile when u r in a cinema. This is what im trying to tell you.
eg.
I have seen people multi tasking eating their food and at the same time doing work with his laptop. I felt pity for him eating next to a rubbish bin in MAc Donald. There's time for it, u just need to appreciate one thing at the time or you gonna live like a rat eating around the rubbish bin.

i hope you don't get me wrong and i think u have seen the light why there were so many die-hard moviegoers that really defending their rights.

whatever it is, enjoy the movie ride and let your imagination carry you away from reality . just like enjoying music in a concert hall , totally different experience from a living room to a loo.

imagine if one slight sound or noise suddenly appears in a music hall in Kitaro Concert which im going in December, you will be shock to see everybody piss at you than. that will make a total difference no matter how smart you dress than.

i booked the vip seat and probably his last performance in KL since his age is catching up. dont miss it. i guess the orchestral hall will be the most silent place to listen to the greatest music, u dont even want to carry your handphone into the hall at all. its a total nuisance when suddenly you hear a nokia ringtone.

What is important in this discussion is that we need to change ourselves first and lives in certain respectable standard above the mediocre.

even one sms = annoyance which is pretty true but not disastrous as the one below.
eating popcorn = annoyance and that's the worst distraction .

im seriously thinkign ur trolling la.. u cant even tolerate people eating popcorn..... thats, very, f***ed up.....
popcorn and movies are synonymous to each other.... honestly man, why do you even bother going to the cinema if u cant tolerate a minor distraction..... anyways, have there even been anymovies lately that are so engrossing till u cant miss a frickin millisecond of it?
*
tat depends on how popcorn is chew , i knew girls don't chunk like a swine. Have you heard of swine chunking pop corn. I knew some men eat without making so much noise by slowly eating it .

tolerance huh.. do u know there 's a word side by side called. .. Coward. y don't we look deep innerself and find out which category do we belong. its in the DNA, i know sometimes its best to use tolerance but not all the time depending on how you see the things.

anyone watch this movie b4, Braveheart by Mel? FREEDDDDOOOMMM!!!-----(shhh!!! sshhhh!!) FREEEDDOMM!! ( hoi! tiam lah!!)

bro, read carefully i have to say.. i mean there's a thin line between coward and tolerance. I worked as a bouncer b4 and i knew when to use force and when is not. that's the difference ok. some people are coward and not because they can tolerate, ok. im not saying its you but there are alot of them who can't stand up for what right or wrong.cheers

im used to closing cinema door or pull the curtain even when the person near to it didn't bother. When i went into the cinema, first thing i did, i shut the door.

i complain to the attendant b4 movie start such as when the surround is off, when i see double image, when i notice the cinema cheated us by using front speaker only instead of side and rear speaker.

latest incidence i had.. i walked out from the korean film festival and asked for refund when i noticed the projectornist using a cardboard to censor some parts manually. i got my refund and found out that Finas gave this instruction to GSC although the Embassy of Korea refuse their show to be screen that way. some compromisation from korean embassy and the movie was allowed to screen but GSC have to use a cardboard to blocked certain scenes like violent and sex.

Well nobody bother and ask for refund also even though everyone were like Aiyoo!! Aiya!!! OOii!!

As usual Typical Malaysian. Can still watch till it finish. I rather buy Original and watch the movie because certain part is very relevant in the movie in the end.

Ok lets put it right once and for all since these people feel it was alright to answer call in the cinema even on the soft note. i've seen people talk slowly and soft but sometimes they goes beyond the talking time because the caller really requires beyond anything on the another side such as. ... i need that file now, the client is in front of me now or Uncle tai Kor is here and i can't find where your key is?? bla bla bla.

Im pissed ok. Im going to Challenge anyone of you next time you go into the cinema and try to listen to your phone. If im there, im going to shout at you ... why dont you try it! let's see what happen! Bring your gang 1 ,2 or 4. i can take anyone of you anytime.

sometimes this is the only way to do it. diplomatic sux! i am serious and im challenging you to do it but if by luck you meet my friend who happens to be there also than im so sorry. he was a trainer for un-armed combat specialist and trained with Israelis special forces in 1989. good luck to you now.

first i thought you could accept changes but after so many people disagreed to your opinion, you still behave primitively and not accepting that you are at fault. I heard some cinema in overseas actually jam the handphone due to distraction.

I am not civilzed fine, u r ? i was in the Genting Magic show yesterday in the theater and all those chinese bumpkins knew what to do like switching off their handphone. i wonder how in the world, an IT freak like you can't.

Still you think its ok to talk in the cinema even the Management have repeatedly shown a few advertisement about No handphone.

how many ads already shown since the 90's about no talking in the cinema..still there are smart alex like you think it's OK. Even Digi shown a distraction of Vibration mode. Man, you better check yourself first. I will have little respect for you if you still think it's ok.

force is necessary sometimes when diplomatic fails. If you think there's a better way like ending this arguement, y not u just follow the rules and guidelines in the cinema.

I have seen a lot people with a lot of friends until they can't tell which one stick to you when you are in trouble. you must be still single and lonely boy to make that statement. poor guy like you still buying pirated products and still a mama's boy . When rainy days, your friends can't help you because they were not elite and cinema is your only entertainment here. its tempting especially the caramel one but its not one of the best in malaysia. malaysian are cheapskate when pouring the caramel into the pop corn. I love how american do things, very big and not compromising on quality especially the flavour.
