Would be nice to see a movie from the Vietnamese perspective. Used to cheer the Americans on when the bombed the Vietcongs on TV when I was a kid in the 80s.

Nowadays, I do think that it was attempted genocide with their mines and agent Orange. They don't call it that because of the "intent", but that's defined by the Americans themselves.
