hi sifus, i am going to install glass awning at my condo balcony, but due to it being strata title, my glass cannot extend beyond the beam edge. My question is whether my frame will get rusty easily because of the rain water? Any potential solution to this? or am i worrying too much unnecessarily? thanks in advance for your input! Use stainless steel polished or brushed depends on your personal preference, or use aluminium material for the frame, also use stainless steel bolts & nuts.

Unless your unit is the top, have U ruled out that there is a possibility something might fall from above breaking the glass?

QUOTE(qhw @ Sep 2 2025, 10:11 PM) there are only 2 units above mine, so i think should be manageable Maintenance of the glass awning will be a challenged over the years in terms of leaking and cleaning. Imaging if your top unit accidentally dropped something. It may not break the glass but that becomes unsightly. Cigarette butt is so common sight on awnings. Then U may have to disturb the top unit for access to removed it, if is something big. Also, since is glass, the dirt and stains will be obvious overtime. And not forgetting that leaking will happen eventually.
