Try not to argue in front of the kids, they usually felt the brunt of the trauma more then adults but it doesn't show as they hide it deep down. Try not to use the kids to bad mouth the other party, this is quite normal in separation as one parent will bad mouth the other, etc....

Keep record of passwords and financial. hide the money and valuables away out of her touch, maybe with your parents if you can trust them. Keep record of kids medical history, dental, school, documentation, etc

Kids passports and birth cert, etc all file them away safely.
