Hi Guys,

Over the past few months, I have started freelancing on the side icon_rolleyes.gif . I use company Mac to work on my freelance projects, and sometimes my boss asks me to upload additional files mad.gif to our cloud system. In the long run is not good.

So now I need to use my old M3 MacBook for those Adobe things.

Recently, I noticed that there are many different sellers on Shopee offering a variety of products. Some of it requires a subscription for a small fee.

Are there any risks of viruses or malware associated with this?

Those were some kind like open license for big company, usually they purchase 100 or more license and they share to those under same company. Same to Microsoft Office license etc..

In short, those license they sell you is park under those company / shopee company you purchase, in their portal they can manage to see your device name, they can add / remove those devices. Once they remove the device, those device will become unlicensed.

So make your choice in long term.

Most of them are shared license, its not suppose to be shared to the public but most likely these people that post them up don't care as long as they get some return anyway. If in any situation the license are not renewed or cut off buyer will get cut off as well. Its like those family plan.

Kind of a grey area so taking those up comes with certain risk especially if your work depends on the software staying alive. If its for personal use its kinda like paying officials for the right to play test instead of out right pirating it.

Some are keys that they get spare, but judging from the price I'd presume its more like a family or coperate plan.

Most of them are cracked version. I bought a few to try in my personal PC. They will guide you on how to install/crack it. If you are earning money from it, better buy original and charge your client abit extra to cover the subscription cost.
