people talk about the availability, logistics, and stability of supplies

when supplies are not stable, how to expect the price come down

hence imported ones are always cheaper, even after SST

i personally not really care about tax or whatnot

It is cheaper in Sabah. I bought at around 7-8/kg at the local version of Lotus, in KK. Taste wise-not much diff to me cos I mix with tuna, mayo and mustard. But I doubt there is a real distinct difference.

Anwar bodoh bangang.

Rafizi the menteri ekonomi knows more about economics than you.

Avocado Sabah supply ada berapa? Demand ada berapa? Now you divert all the demand to a pool of very little supply you think the price of Sabah avocado will go down?

Why is going to happen: imported avocado prices go up. And then local avocado price also go up. Diu.

Can get for 1kg/7-8 ringgek in KK. Sabah. There r some which can weight almost 500-700g per fruit. And if you go Kundasang, you can get cheese avocado. Yellow creamy flesh, almost like Ciku. This is more expensive.

Letak baja buah. Usually when it flowers, should have buah. Kalau tiada, maybe because of the weather, too hot or too windy.

I learn how to grow avo trees since small from my dad. We have a few avo trees around my parent’s house compound. Been enjoying good tasty avos since forever.

Sabah avos are not cheap to begin with

Especially those yellow creamy ones. And they are usually larger than those imported ones.

I found sabah avos tastier when making guacamole or for bread spread than imported ones. Maybe because they are a bit creamier.

My avo trees produce fruit two times a year, just hoping the wind is not too strong during the blooming phase.

Every successful politician has a common enemy to unite the people so as to win votes , previously "May 13" was used successfully that the NON's was the common enemy, now the common enemy is also part of the power play so no go there. So how now brown cow? Using Najib as enemy no 1 also does not work because it bounces back on BN supporters and he will never get out of jail.........................so......................who else? Amerikaners? Want to be part of the trade embargoes? ...........so like they say " that's all folks"

Yes we do. But the skin is smooth not wrinkly.

I've bought some when I was at Cameron Highlands.

Tastes about the same as imported ones, cheaper too. I've planted Aussie ones at my own home. We've got two of it now. Just waiting for it to mature further and to fruit. Takes about 10 years to start fruiting though if you don't graft them. 😂

Everything needs effort. We have to take initiatives, be proactive in making it happen. Else, nothing will happen.

Though i agree government n authorities have to make things happen too, not just a lip service n expect everyone respond positively.

As a nation, we really need to reduce our imports, reduce our reliance on foreign imports to sustain our economy. We need to BUILD our own economy, create jobs, keep our jobs. The rewards is far better than reducing expenses of the citizens w cheap imports

It is cheaper in Sabah.  I bought at around 7-8/kg at the local version of Lotus, in KK.  Taste wise-not much diff to me cos I mix with tuna, mayo and mustard.  But I doubt there is a real distinct difference.
*
Local avocado is hit and miss la. Where got consistent want.
RM 7-8 is how many years ago?
Now cincai also RM 10-15 per kg. You havnt count the bad one yet.

Meanwhile hass avocado in kl rm15 only 3 biji. Might as well buy those kind.

because they are mostly more expensive / double the usual price..

there's another term, BMF, in facebook ping pang pong pang so many people say will support, but in reality, all talk no action no money to support, those business that came with BMF which did market sentiment by surveying facebook is also bodoh, natural selection in making.

*
which breed that they use anyway?

sabah avocado is not cheap also

Not sure which variety, maybe QAV1

My avo fruits looks like QAV1, although I can’t confirm it. My dad planted in the 90’s. Now we have a few avo trees all around the compound.

If they are ripened to perfection, tastes yummeh.

Don’t eat if the fruit is still “hard”, it’ll taste bitter.

I think that’s a different variant. Sabah’s avos, or the QAV1 has smooth skin, and when it ripens to creamy yellow inside, the skin still maintains the green color. Unlike the imported ones with purple-brownish color with pebbled texture when ripe.
