they drove to the 1996 location of the magnetic north pole which is approx 78°35.7′N 104°11.9′W . this is roughly the same latitude as Longyearbyen in Svalbard

geographic north pole on the other hand is at 90° North

so maybe that was it

drive to cannot lah, drive in can, problem is how much you willing to pay

just get a tourist landing icebreaker cruise package in svalbard norway or murmansk russia
around 38k for you to land there and step + touch the ice for like 30 min
those near 100k ones have helicopter ride, drive there, wildlife and nature scenery observation

issit worth the money, nah, cause most of the time you're in the ship
and there are many places like north pole, far more things you can do for far cheaper prices
like just stay in svalbard norway don't take the north pole cruise
or visit canadian arctic or greenland and you can get similar experience

This isn't the same as the geographic north pole which is at 90 Deg North and in the middle of the Arctic ocean

Go see northern lights is it? Rent car and drive up to see

Yeah, that was in Svalbard though and at 12 noon. Still pretty far from north pole though

that piece of ice already move away from canada heading toward russia
many many years ago when it's connected to canada of course you can
