Johor Bahru-Singapore Shuttle Train to Retire After RTS Launch

The Johor state government announced that with the Johor Bahru–Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) set to officially open in January 2027, the KTMB Shuttle Tebrau service between Johor Bahru and Singapore will be phased out.
According to a report by Oriental Daily, Johor’s Executive Councillor for Public Works, Transport, Infrastructure, and Communications, Mohd Fazli, wrote on Facebook that the shuttle train is expected to retire within six months after the RTS begins operation.
The Shuttle Tebrau railway line is 1.1 km long. It began service on 1 July 2015, operating 31 trips daily in both directions, carrying an average of 8,635 passengers per day.
