Jabatan Imigresen Pahang menahan 85 wanita warga asing bekerja sebagai gadis pelayan pelanggan (GRO) dalam serbuan di enam pusat hiburan di Jalan Gambut, awal pagi ini.

Pengarahnya, Nursafariza Ihsan, berkata 14 lelaki warga asing bekerja sebagai pelayan di pusat hiburan terbabit turut ditahan dalam serbuan serentak di pusat hiburan terbabit jam 1 pagi.

Wanita warga asing ditahan membabitkan rakyat Thailand (81) dan Laos, empat orang.

Turut ditahan 12 lelaki rakyat Bangladesh dan masing-masing seorang rakyat Yaman dan China.
"Mereka melakukan pelbagai kesalahan dan paling ramai menyalah guna permit kerja. Sebahagian besar mereka mempunyai permit kerja di sektor binaan dan pembersihan.
"Bagaimanapun mereka bekerja sebagai GRO dan pelayan di pusat hiburan," katanya ditemui hari ini.

Nursafariza berkata, Jabatan Imigresen akan memanggil enam pemilik pusat hiburan terbabit untuk siasatan lanjut.


Semua pusat hiburan terbabit pernah diserbu dan dikenakan tindakan beberapa kali sebelum ini tetapi masih melakukan kesalahan sama.
"Jumlah warga asing ditahan agak ramai sedangkan pemeriksaan di pusat hiburan terbabit sering dilakukan seolah-olah pengusahanya tidak takut terhadap tindakan dilakukan." katanya.


Semua warga asing ditahan dibawa ke ke Depoh Tahanan Imigresen Kemayan, Bera.

Mereka ditahan dan disiasat mengikut Peraturan 39 (b) Peraturan-Peraturan Imigresen 1963 dan Seksyen 6 (3) Akta Imigresen 1959/63.
