KUALA LUMPUR: Sebuah kereta hilang kawalan dan terbabas lalu melanggar sebuah kereta lain serta seorang pejalan kaki di ibu negara, siang tadi.

Kereta berkenaan kemudian terhumban ke bawah jambatan dan tersangkut di antara celah konkrit saluran paip besi.

Terdahulu tular rakaman dari kamera papan pemuka dan beberapa video yang memaparkan insiden kemalangan berkenaan.

Ketua Jabatan Siasatan Dan Penguatkuasaan Trafik Kuala Lumpur, Asisten Komisioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa memaklumkan kejadian berlaku jam 11.45 pagi tadi di Jalan Ipoh menghala ke Bulatan Kepong.

Sebuah kereta dipandu lelaki warga Bangladesh dari arah PPR Batu Muda dikatakan hilang kawalan dan melanggar sebuah kereta dipandu wanita warga Vietnam.

Kereta dipandu warga Bangladesh itu terus meluru laju dan melanggar seorang pejalan kaki, mengakibatkan mangsa terpelanting ke bawah jambatan.

Akibat kemalangan itu, pemandu kereta mengalami kecederaan dan dibawa ke Hospital Kuala Lumpur untuk rawatan.

Usaha masih dijalankan bagi mencari pejalan kaki itu yang dipercayai tercampak ke dalam sungai.

Difahamkan cebisan kakinya ditemui di tempat kejadian.

Gerakan mencari dijalankan oleh pasukan Bomba dan Penyelamat Sentul, Jinjang serta Hang Tuah bersama pihak Angkatan Pertahanan Awam.

Polis telah menahan pemandu kereta warga Bangladesh berkenaan dan kes disiasat mengikut Seksyen 42(1) Akta Pengangkutan Jalan 1987.

Jelas ACP Mohd Zamzuri, semakan mendapati kereta berkenaan bukan milik pemandu dan dipinjam dari rakannya.

KUALA LUMPUR: A pedestrian is believed to have drowned after falling into a river when he was hit by a car that skidded in an accident on Jalan Ipoh heading towards the Kepong Roundabout, near here, on Friday (June 13) morning.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the accident, which occurred around 11.45am, involved two cars and a pedestrian.

"Initial investigations found that a Nissan Sylphy, driven by a 39-year-old Bangladeshi man from the direction of PPR Batu Muda, lost control and collided with the front right side of a Toyota Camry, driven by a 43-year-old Vietnamese woman from the direction of Batu Kentomen, near here.

"The Nissan Sylphy then struck a pedestrian before plunging under the bridge and getting caught between concrete structures and iron pipes," he said in a statement on Friday.
