Kerajaan tanggung kos Dr Mahathir hadir Forum Antarabangsa Nikkei di Jepun

MELAKA - Kerajaan meluluskan peruntukan sebanyak RM486,000 bagi kos perbelanjaan bekas Perdana Menteri, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad bersama delegasi yang menghadiri Forum Antarabangsa Nikkei ke-30 pada bulan lalu.

Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim berkata, bekas perdana menteri keempat dan ketujuh itu telah membuat permohonan bagi mendapatkan peruntukan menghadiri forum berkenaan yang telah berlangsung di Tokyo, Jepun.

Menurutnya, individu itu sememangnya mempunyai hak untuk membuat permohonan, namun syarat permohonan tersebut perlu diluluskan oleh Perdana Menteri.

Katanya, meskipun sering 'diserang' oleh individu terbabit, beliau masih mempunyai pertimbangan untuk meluluskan peruntukan yang melibatkan bekas perdana menteri itu.

"Jadi orang tanya pasal apa, bayar tak? Ada hak dia memohon, tapi terserah pada Perdana Menteri untuk luluskan dan saya masih meluluskan RM486,000. Saya ingat daripada sembilan orang, saya luluskan tujuh orang.

"Saya tidak mahu ambil sikap yang negatif, walaupun hari-hari serang kita, kita masih luluskan," katanya.

Beliau berkata demikian kepada pemberita selepas menyempurnakan Seminar Pemantapan Organisasi dan Pertemuan Bersama Presiden Keadilan di sebuah hotel di Ayer Keroh, di sini, pada Khamis.

Mahathir pada akhir bulan lalu telah menyertai Forum Antarabangsa Nikkei ke-30 di Tokyo, Jepun yang berlangsung dari 29 hingga 30 Mei lalu.

Ketika forum itu, Mahathir turut memberi bayangan bahawa itu mungkin penyertaan terakhir beliau ke forum berkenaan.

According to Malaysia Airlines website, Ticket price from Kuala Lumpur to Tokyo (Business Class) is only RM3678 per trip, Around RM8000 round trip

Last time Najib also got ask for 100mil posh house after stepping down, end of the day it wasn't approved so that's that.

I’m guessing it’s one of those perks as an ex prime minister.

While expensive, it is an official state visit and Mamak is there as a capacity of an ex leader.

Cost of private jet is RM250k+for that return flight. And presidential suite + rooms for the rest might be another RM150k+. High end security and transport maybe another RM50k.
