While I certainly not agree on single EV is as dirty as three hybrids, I do agree that there is no rush to phase out ICE car too quickly...

BUT, Toyota really should start more invests in EV as EV really is the future here.

Toyota has huge advantage in drivetrain (engine + gearbox).

It's tough for them to throw those away & start fresh.

Toyota engine + Aisin gearbox. Definition of reliability.

lol ev is making global warmng worse.
all conned by ev makers.

Yes, the manufacturing of electric vehicles (EVs) does contribute to higher carbon emissions than the production of gasoline-powered cars. While EVs have a lower carbon footprint during operation, their manufacturing process, particularly the production of batteries, involves energy-intensive extraction, processing, and transportation of raw materials, leading to significant emissions.

Almost 4 tonnes of CO2 are released during the production process of a single electric car and, in order to break even, the vehicle must be used for at least 8 years to offset the initial emissions by 0.5 tonnes of prevented emissions annually.

EV is making the city cleaner, almost no carbon dioxide when travel around if compare with ICE car. Even with electricity generation, the power plant can use carbon capture storage to store all the carbon emission and emit lesser compare to ICE car.

Break even sure boleh more than 8 years, even the old tesla car battery was reuse as solar battery storage. The most crucial question is how do we recycle all the battery, until now no any big demand in the market and causing company reluctant to pour resources in.

Hydrogen until now has not proven its worth in US, especially in California, a lot of the Mirai owner has complain hydrogen is more expensive than petrol/diesel. The only way for future is Green hydrogen.

The hydrogen temporarily station at Putrajaya cost RM15mil to set up, just for 50kg storage only, the cost of petrol station cost mostly about RM3-4mil (large one), one DC charger maybe cost RM200k for 2 bay. How to breakeven in long run with the high storage cost of hydrogen.
